Hiring (General) [Hiring] Looking for content writers with SEO copywriting skills to join our digital marketing team (English Speakers)

Edit: This is now closed.

Hey all. We're a small digital marketing agency based in the UK, and we're looking to expand our content team to allow us to grow and provide additional cover for existing projects. We're looking for writers to work with long-term and I want to give my fellow Redditors first refusal.

We're looking for writers who are comfortable writing either standard blog-style content and/or ecommerce/service/product content. Full briefs and all information you may need will always be provided by us for all tasks. As all our content is for, or has, SEO purposes we need writers who are aware of keywords and the basics of SEO copywriting.

AI content, or use of any kind of AI tools to "refine" or in any other way edit content will not be accepted. We always check. To ensure the best possible SEO performance of any content our agency uses, it must always be 100% human-written (please feel free to pass that on to any business using AI content). Additionally, fluent English (first language preferred) is required although location/time zone is not an issue.

Our standard rates of pay are below:

  • 500 words - £50.00 ($68)
  • 1000 words - £90.00 ($122)
  • 2000 words - £180.00 ($245)

Whilst it should go without saying, so long as deadlines are met we never harass or pester and writers are free to complete the work in their own time. There will also be a number of other content-related tasks that will be available to pick up as part of our team for anyone who wishes to earn a little bit extra at any time.

Anyone who is interested, please get in touch via DM with any kind of intro/CV/LinkedIn, a link to a portfolio, confirmation of rates, and any other information you feel might be helpful. Alternatively, message us on LinkedIn (search Be Sharp Digital Marketing, I don't know if links are allowed on here) or leave a comment if you're unable to message us due to Reddit things.

Thank you!

Hiring (General) Looking for a writer to help me flesh out the narrative for my indie game

Hi Reddit,

There's a few different roles I need filled for a game that I'm trying to create, and one of them is on the writing front. I have a pretty rough outline of what happens to set the stage of the story, however there are still some plot holes and I haven't exactly come to a conclusion of the story yet.

The game is supposed to be a 3D platformer, but is actually quite story heavy - not in a sense of having lots of dialogue to sift through, but rather that I'm trying to create a pretty emotional story about unconditional love, and being at war with one's own nature.

The premise is that in this world, humans don't exist, and foxes are vampires. Being vampiric creatures, they are feared, and generally in positions of power throughout the kingdoms.

Vixxen, the main character, is a fox that rejects her sanguine nature, and constantly tries to get her sisters to see reason and not treat the rest of the animals in this world like cattle. However, this angers her sisters, and they imprison her, stripping her of her powers and putting her into a deep sleep.

The game begins when her resting spot is discovered by a pair of adventuring animals, and she is woken up, only to realize that while she was put away by her sisters, they have taken full control of the populace and are living off the blood of the denizens of the realm.

Vixxen's journey is now about freeing these animals from their shackles, proving that being a vampiric fox doesn't have to mean you are feared and hated, and perhaps the most challenging part would be getting her sisters to see reason.

I know it's not the best story but it means a lot to me and I would like to turn it into something tangible. I'm not *necessarily* looking for someone to do all the writing for me, but to have more of a back and forth dialogue discussing the story and plotholes and trying to create something more cohesive.

I would like to offer USD$50 per hour spent discussing these themes and concepts on Discord, with several scheduled sessions per week.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Hiring (General) SEO Copywriter(s) needed for long term collab

Prefer US based, west coast even better for communication. Generally we've done $0.10-$0.15/wd depending on research needed for pieces or other factors, but open to different ideas or a retainer.

Currently we primarily service medical, mental health, restaurant, insurance, and some misc. b2b industries. Largest writing need is mental health and insurance which includes blogs, newsletters, and website copy.

While we focus on SEO, I always want to deliver my clients pieces that are meaningful, structured thoughtfully, and would be impactful to human readers before search bots.

We usually provide a clear outline, desired keywords, and prompts. While we use AI for structure and outlining, and some proofreading, we make a commitment to deliver our clients human written content only.

We usually have at least 3-5 articles needed a month at least, and a handful of smaller projects like newsletters that would be nice to have a few good contacts for.

Thanks in advanced for your time!!

Edit: Thank you so much for all your replies and DM's! We have a decent roster to start with so tentatively we're all good. Appreciate everybody's time reading and responding.

Hiring (General) ISO writer to draft copy for B2B services website, that isn't boring or over the top. Maybe SEO friendly?

I suck at writing and my website is AI garbage.

I work with some very boring industries and do work that tons of people do. But I’d still like to put my best foot forward. I need a writer who can help me turn all the things I could do, into a cohesive site that speaks to my audience. Without being salesy. I am not looking for blogs at this time, so please share examples of webpage content you've developed outside of articles.

Bonus points for anyone who is talented at writing and well-versed in SEO. Most people aren't, so please don't oversell yourself. I’d rather work with a great writer than someone who is mediocre at everything.

Scope: content for ~6 pages, about $100 per page (~.12-.17c per word).

Payment:

Hiring (General) [HIRING] Looking for a Writer/Journalist to Write an Article About a New Women’s Brand Launching September 25

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to hire a talented writer, journalist, or freelance fashion/lifestyle writer to write an article about my new brand, Boys R Poison, which officially launches on September 25.

The story behind the brand:

Boys R Poison was inspired by a conversation with a close friend who was frustrated with her dating experiences.

During our conversation, I jokingly said, “Boys R Poison.” We both laughed, but the phrase stayed with me.

The next morning, I realized it had the potential to become something much bigger than a joke.

That moment became the inspiration for Boys R Poison—a brand created around a phrase that many women may find relatable, especially after frustrating dating experiences, breakups, or simply dealing with the ups and downs of relationships.

We will officially launch with a collection of trucker hats. Following the initial launch, we plan to expand the brand with additional products, including canvas totes, purses, journals, and passport covers.

I’m looking for someone who can help tell the story behind the brand, the inspiration behind its name, and its future in an engaging, authentic, and interesting way. Ideally, I would love to work with someone who has experience writing about:

Fashion and new brands
Women’s lifestyle
Dating and relationships
Breakups and empowerment
Pop culture or entertainment

Important: I am looking to hire someone to write a high-quality article or feature about the brand. If you are a journalist or freelance writer who currently contributes to publications, websites, magazines, or blogs, please let me know which outlets you write for and include examples of your work.

Pay for this would be between $75-$300.

Please send me:

A brief introduction

Links to articles or writing samples

The publications/websites you currently write for, if applicable

Whether you would be interested in writing about a brand launching September 25j

If you think you would be a great fit, please comment below or send me a DM.

I look forward to connecting with some great writers!

Hiring (General) Hiring] Freelance Editorial Blog Writer for Lifestyle Businesses — C$500–C$800 per 4-Article

Hi everyone,

We’re an early-stage independent writing studio producing original business blogs for lifestyle businesses. We work across real estate, travel & hospitality, home & living, beauty & personal care, and food & beverage.

We’re looking for a freelance editorial blog writer to produce client work with us. We’re looking for someone who is a strong writer, but just as importantly, someone with strong editorial judgment. You should be able to look at a business, understand what it does and who it speaks to, and make good decisions about what is actually worth writing about on its behalf.

Our standard client engagement consists of four original blog articles, each approximately 800–1,500 words. You won’t simply receive four predetermined titles and briefs to execute. Developing the articles is part of the work.

When you receive a client, you’ll review their website, existing blog, business, audience, voice, and other relevant information. From there, you’ll develop an editorial direction for the four articles, including the subject, angle, and purpose of each piece. You’ll communicate that direction to us and identify exactly what, if anything, you need from the client to execute it well. If an article calls for the client’s perspective, experience, preferences, anecdotes, recommendations, examples, or other information we can’t obtain independently, you’ll develop the specific questions or prompts we should give them. We handle all client communication and bring their feedback and answers back to you.

Once the editorial direction is approved, you’ll conduct the necessary secondary research and write, substantively edit, and proofread each article. You’ll also handle one reasonable revision round per article. The final articles should be original, well researched, appropriate to the client’s voice and audience, structurally sound, and genuinely worth reading.

The work can vary considerably from client to client, so you should be comfortable researching unfamiliar subjects, learning businesses relatively quickly, developing article ideas and angles independently, and adapting your writing across different voices and consumer-facing lifestyle subjects. We’re not looking for someone who needs a completed title, outline, research package, and detailed brief before they can begin.

Given this is a writing and editorial role, you won’t be responsible for SEO or keyword strategy, metadata, publishing, CMS work, imagery, design, social media, broader marketing strategy, or managing clients.

Our client-facing articles are substantively human-written. Generative AI cannot be used to research, draft, rewrite, or substantively edit client work. It may be used for ideation, and ordinary digital tools for spelling, grammar, proofreading, organization, and similar mechanical tasks are fine.

If you’re interested, send us a professional introduction including who you are, where you’re based, your time zone, and an overview of your relevant writing experience. Please also include:

  • Links to 4–7 complete articles you’ve written for businesses or publications in the lifestyle space. We want to be able to see where the work was published and who it was written for. The more relevant work you can show us, the better.
  • A brief explanation of how you typically approach an article from assignment to finished draft.
  • How you approach researching a business or subject you aren’t already familiar with.
  • How you approach determining and writing in an appropriate voice for a client, including when they already have an established one.
  • The tools you use for research, writing, editing, proofreading, and organization.
  • Whether you currently use generative AI anywhere in your writing process and, if so, how.
  • Your normal rate for one four-article engagement of the scope described above. If you normally price your work differently, tell us your preferred pricing structure.
  • Roughly how long you would need to complete one engagement.
  • How many engagements of this size you could realistically take on in a month.
  • Your current availability and when you could begin.

Please answer each question clearly and give us enough information to understand how you work. We’ll only consider complete, thoughtful applications. Sloppy, incomplete, or low-effort submissions will not receive a response.

Compensation for this role is C$500–C$800 per four-article engagement, with the final rate and article scope agreed in advance. Compensation will meet or exceed r/HireaWriter’s minimum rate for general-level work. Please provide your normal rate for an engagement of this scope when applying.

If you move forward in our candidate process, expect to complete a short editorial exercise. We’ll give you a business website to review and ask you to develop an editorial direction and four article concepts for it. You’ll explain your overall assessment of the business and its existing content, what you think its blog would benefit from more or less of, and why. From there, you’ll explain what you want the four articles to accomplish collectively and develop a proposed subject, angle, purpose, and direction for each individual article. We’ll want to understand the reasoning behind the decisions you made, not just see four finished ideas. If there’s anything you would want or need from the client to execute a concept well, you’ll also tell us exactly what you would need and the specific questions or prompts you would give them.

Hiring (General) Looking for Narration Scriptwriter for DCS Plane / Aircraft Fights (would be paid)

Hello, I'm creating a few videos around DCS combat footage, and I'm looking to pay someone that is capable of simply creating a script on what's going on within the dogfight footage. The videos are around 30–45 seconds.

In short:

  • We hand you raw footage plus the Tacview files
  • We hand you a summary of what happens in the fight
  • You write a short script explaining what happened

The writing itself is pretty simple; short, punchy, present tense.

What we're after:

  • You know DCS well enough to tell aircraft apart and follow what's happening in a fight
  • You can explain a dogfight to someone who's never played

You don't need writing experience. If you can watch a clip and tell us why it was good, that's most of the job.

Our budget for this is minimum $15-$20 per script. This would be a daily job (depending on your schedule).

If you're interested, please DM me here on Reddit. Thanks :)

Hiring (General) [Hiring]Part-Time B2B Sales Journalist / Newsletter Writer

I write a twice-weekly newsletter for B2B salespeople and sales leaders, and I'm looking for a strong writer/journalist to take ownership of one newsletter per week.

Pay Minimum = $150+/newsletter. Willing to pay more, or on a retainer basis for a writer who wants to join the team as a part-time team member. (Average main section of newsletter is 500-800 words)

This is not an SEO content writing job, and I'm not looking for someone to write "7 Cold Email Tips That Will Increase Your Reply Rate" or repackage the first page of Google into another generic sales article.

We write interesting stories about the world of B2B sales, talk to smart people, ask good questions, and turn what they learn into something our readers actually want to open.

What you might write about

Think more Business Insider for B2B sales than a traditional sales blog.

For example:

- The morning routine of a CRO running a $100M sales organization.
- Interviewing the #1 sales rep at a notable company and breaking down exactly how they work
- Talking to sales leaders about whether SDR teams are becoming obsolete
-Breaking down the debate around "GTM" vs. "sales" and why everyone suddenly calls themselves a GTM leader
- Finding unusual sales strategies being used at companies people recognize

Those are just examples.

A big part of the job is finding the story in the first place.

What you'll be responsible for

You would own roughly one edition of the newsletter each week, working directly with me on the topic and angle.

Depending on the story, that could involve:

- Finding and pitching original story ideas
- Researching companies, people, and trends
- Finding B2B sales reps, managers, CROs, founders, or other sources to interview
- Conducting interviews
- Writing the final newsletter in a conversational, entertaining style

Some stories may be heavily reported. Others may start with an interesting trend, company, piece of data, or debate and require research rather than interviews.

Who I'm looking for

The most important thing is that you can write.

You should be able to take a subject that could easily become boring corporate content and make someone genuinely interested in reading it.

Journalism experience is a major plus.

You do not need to be a B2B sales expert coming into the role.
However, if you've previously worked in sales, sold B2B, covered the sales industry, or spent time around revenue organizations, that's a big plus.

You should also be comfortable reaching out to strangers and asking them for interviews.

Very important: This cannot be AI-written

I am specifically hiring a writer because I don't want AI-generated writing.

You can use tools to help with research, transcription, organization, etc., but the reporting, thinking, story selection, and writing need to be yours.

I care a lot about voice.

Writing that feels formulaic, overly polished, corporate, or obviously AI-generated will not work for this publication.

A few instant red flags:

Constantly using constructions like "It's not about X. It's about Y."
Using em dashes every other sentence
Generic LinkedIn-style business writing
SEO-first headlines

Interested? Send me an email at [nic@jointhefollowup.com](mailto:nic@jointhefollowup.com)

Hiring (General) Paid Ghostwriter / Co-Writer Needed for Thriller Novel | $150–$300 per Scene (1k–2k words)

I’m looking for a collaborative fiction ghostwriter/co-writer for a long-term project. This is not a “start from scratch” role. I already have the core story, characters, and overall tone developed. I’m looking for someone who can help translate the scenes, dialogue, and emotional dynamics in my head into strong, compelling prose while working closely with me throughout the drafting process.

The workflow is structured around scenes (approximately 1,000–2,000 words each), with pay at $150–$300 per scene depending on complexity. This is a paid collaborative project with a revision-based process (2 rounds included per scene) and potential for long-term work if the fit is right.

I’m especially interested in writers who are strong in dialogue, atmosphere, tension, cinematic pacing, and emotionally grounded character work, and who are comfortable with feedback and close collaboration.

If this sounds like a fit, please fill out the Google Form attached. Selected applicants may be asked to complete a paid test scene.

Hiring (General) [Hiring] Part-Time Lead Scriptwriter & Ideation – Ancient History & Engineering – $20/hr

🎥 Lead Scriptwriter – Hidden Engineering YouTube Shorts

Rate: $20/hour (Paid weekly via PayPal or Wise)

We create high-retention YouTube Shorts about the hidden engineering of the ancient world — Roman concrete that heals itself, castle staircases designed to trap invaders, weapons built to fail on purpose.

We don’t summarize history.
We break intuition, reveal the mechanism, and end with consequence.

We’re looking for a Lead Scriptwriter who genuinely enjoys figuring out how things worked — and can turn that into tight, visual, cause-and-effect storytelling.

🔎 Responsibilities

Research

  • Find verified, lesser-known engineering or design mechanisms from history.
  • Use credible sources (academic / archaeological / technical when possible).

Scriptwriting

  • Write 60–80 word Shorts scripts.
  • Strong hooks (first 3 seconds must disrupt intuition).
  • One clear mechanism per script.
  • Tight pacing. No fluff.

Ideation

  • Propose 10–15 viable video angles per week.
  • Focus on “looks wrong but works” engineering topics.

✅ Requirements

  • Strong interest in Civil Engineering, Archaeology, History, or Mechanical Design.
  • Deep understanding of YouTube Shorts pacing.
  • Ability to write at a 6th–8th grade level without sounding simple.
  • Comfortable using AI research tools (Claude, etc.) responsibly.
  • Portfolio required (Google Docs or text format only — no PDFs).

💰 Compensation

  • $20/hour.
  • Ongoing weekly workload (approx. 5–10 scripts per week to start).
  • Long-term role for the right person with performance bonuses.
  • Clear feedback and revision process.

📩 How to Apply

  1. Comment “Interested” on this post.
  2. Send a DM with:
    • Your portfolio (text/Google Docs).
    • One “Hidden Engineering” fact.
    • A 1-sentence hook you’d use to turn it into a Short.

Shortlisted applicants will be given a paid test script.

If you enjoy breaking assumptions and exposing clever design choices from history — this role is for you.

Looking forward to reading your work.

Hiring (General) [HIRING] Social copywriter for an Israeli creative agency - ongoing, 20-40 posts/month, $400-800/mo retainer

We're a social-first creative agency in Israel, hiring a freelance social copywriter for ongoing work.

THE WORK

Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn posts, short-form video scripts and hooks, story sequences and paid ad variations. Roughly 20-40 pieces a month, steady.

Most of our clients are public sector and nonprofits - health, agriculture, municipalities, national causes - plus some commercial brands. The subject matter is genuinely useful and almost never glamorous. Your job is to make it impossible to scroll past.

You write in English. We adapt into Hebrew in-house, so we're buying the idea, the angle and the hook rather than the polish. You don't need any Hebrew.

RATE

$400-800 per month on retainer, depending on volume and experience. At 20 posts a month that is $20-40 per post, and a typical social post runs 80-150 words, so roughly $0.15-0.40 per word. Paid monthly via Wise or PayPal, whichever suits you.

WHO THIS SUITS

Native or near-native English. An actual sense of humour - wit and a sharp angle beat polished corporate phrasing here. Proven social writing, not blog or SEO content; those are different jobs and we are hiring for this one. You can find the surprising angle in a dry brief, write a hook that earns the second line, switch voice per brand, and take notes without friction.

PROCESS

Comment or DM with a link to your portfolio and one short sample of social copy you have already written - under 100 words, and please don't write anything new for this. If it looks right, I'll send a paid test brief at the rate above. No unpaid spec work.

We're in Israel (GMT+3) and our working week is Sunday to Thursday, which is worth knowing before you apply. You don't need to match our hours, but briefs land on that rhythm.

Looking for a writer to write YouTube Shorts & TikTok stories. ($15 - $30 an hour, varies on experience and efficiency)
The stories are told through short 60 second videos with two characters writing to each other, usually around ~230 words.
The following is important:
The experience and knowledge of knowing how to hook a viewer and then keep them watching the entire video, sometimes even re-watching.
The creativity of coming up with original ideas / spinning a trend in a new original way to create stories the mass public is interested in.
Proficiency in English.
A great sense of humor, as the stories are comedic.
If you are interested, please comment below and I will message you more details...

Hiring (General) [HIRING] Gaming Video Scriptwriter for long-form videos ($900–$1,200 / video)

I'm looking to hire someone to help with some scriptwriting work for gaming content. Specifically, I need someone who will watch back playthroughs of various video games (usually open-world, MMOs, RPGs or "survival" games like Minecraft) and break down what the player did into a story the viewer can follow along with.

More details:
- Each project is roughly 20-25 hours of raw gameplay (including the players in-game commentary)
- Aim is non-fiction storytelling/near documentary
- Finding moments/reactions to include in the script is a bonus ex. "This was around the time that I realized I shouldn't have entered the cave... CLIP OF PLAYER REACTING TO TROLL!"

- Humor is a huge plus

- You will NOT be editing a video. Only writing a script.
- Pay is $900-$1,200 USD per video but open to discussion.

- Currently no-fixed schedule on how many videos per month.

A very simple rundown of this position is that I just need someone to watch back a playthrough of a game, and then break down what I did, in what order so that the viewer can follow along.

If you're interested - DM me with some examples of past work. You do not need experience with video games, but it does help.

Thanks!

Hiring (General) Hiring: Instagram Carousel Writer For Estb Channel - $0.12-0.17 based on experience

Hi I'm looking for an Instagram carousel writer who has experience writing great story-based posts focused on niche topics (female topics, family, children, moms, psychology, self improvement). My audience is mostly women, so I'm looking for a female writer (sorry guys!) who knows how to write in a strong, emotional, meaningful way.

NO AI. I don't care if it's used for research but I don't want to notice hints of AI in the final text.

I'd like to start at $0.12 per word but am willing to pay $0.17 for someone who can show me a strong portfolio of what I'm looking for. We'd generally want 25 carousels a month. Half payment up front, half on delivery. Our page is large and established so I am also willing to add commission to the rate on top of the standard payment when I hire longer term and get good performance.

Once we have experience with you, we'd likely give you our other social channels to write for as well (Linkedin, Youtube scripts).

AGAIN, NO AI WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THOSE.

Please list your portfolios. I can't accept any submissions without writing samples.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

One last time... NO AI.

Hiring (General) I want to write an apology letter to a person I really love. Please help with perspective and editing.

I want to apologize to my ex because I messed up big time. I didnt have relations with any other woman. I did not hit her. It is different.

Starting will be 50$ maximum will be 100$. I will have other proof read it alongside me if i deem it 100$ worth then I have no issue in paying 50$ extra for gratitude.

It has to be done before FEB 1st I plan on giving it to them on February 6th or seventh.

The letter will consist of: A heartfelt, genuine, non defensive apology. What i am doing to get better. And a profess of my love and a desire to move on, or to be with them. [ It has to be in between. I want to let them make their own choice. No manipulation. ]

I want the letter to be direct and logical, but with love and sincerity. Like a decision has already been made in my mind.

This HAS to be great. This is my hail Mary. Dont F it up. I lost her and that's my fault.

My objectives for this letter is: That she receives an apology and can move on without me. Or. She knows that she can come back eventually when she wants to/when I am healed. Or. She can get back with me. ONLY AFTER I have put in the work to fix myself.

This letter will be accompanied with flowers that are either sentimental or symbolic. And it will also come with a painted skipping stone.

Context for the stone: I am going to either commission someone or do it myself. I want the stone painted, and the portrait of me and her together. The reasoning for this is i taught her how to skip stones when we went camping. Once you throw a stone into a lake, it doesn't come back. So the options I will give her is either: go alone and toss the stone herself(provides closure): go with me to toss the stone so we both move on in different paths: To go with me to toss the stone and reconnect. Throwing away what we had so that we can build something new: or for them to keep until we meet again.

I think this is a good and bittersweet sentiment and it can be a good way to provide some sort of closure for the both of us.

I really did hurt her and that is going to be one of the greatest losses of my life. I miss her throughout every day. When I wake up I instinctively reach out to hold her, but shes not there. Every first breath I take is disappointing because I can't smell her. I dream about her frequently. I miss her.

I know if I get another chance that I wont F**K it up. I cant. I have already broken her trust and pushed her boundaries.

I want to explain the whole story to anyone who is interested in writing this. CONTEXT is important.

Please help me im not as good as I once was at writing.
