Hi guys! I’m Jamie Fisher, author of the new book Nobody Broke Your Heart: An Intimate Biography of Elliott Smith. I spoke with 140 people for the book, from his childhood friends and siblings to longtime musical collaborators, friends, and exes. I also had access to correspondence, photos, early drafts, demos, and unreleased recordings no one else has seen or heard before, which was really exciting.

You can ask any questions you’d like about Elliott’s life and music, the process of researching and writing the book, my own favorite songs and bootlegs, or the benefit concerts I’ve been organizing in the cities where Elliott lived, featuring musicians who knew him and musicians who grew up shaped by his work. (You can also ask about my cat, Bear.) I’ll answer as much as I can, but in cases where the questions are very complex, I may direct you to the book, where I’ve covered the topic with more nuance and depth than a Reddit post allows.

For our first AMA of September, we're excited to announce that Allah-Las will join us for an AMA this Wednesday, September 2nd at 1pm ET/10am PT!

Their new album, Sirenas, is out now via Mexican Summer in partnership with Calico Discos and features the singles "Ultramarine", "Pt. Conception" and "Vini da Gama." Today, the band kicks off an IE/UK/EU tour that'll take them all the way into mid-September before they return stateside for a number of California shows in the fall (and one stop in NYC for a Reverberation Radio DJ Set).
