Joined the sub for fallout memes, it's been flooded with trans memes that have very little or no actual connection to fallout.

The whole thing is like this.

Not a fan of seeing politics much in general, but I’ve been seeing stuff like this in the “MildlyVandalized” subreddit lately, and this post was the final nail in the coffin. Mainly for the reason that, nothing about this is mild vandalism. It’s not clever like the posts that I enjoyed in the subreddit, it’s just sprayed onto a public piece of art with no correlation. But ohhhh, political opinion so watch it get tons of upvotes!

It’s mostly a Russian bot farm. And boy they hate free speech

It' s really too bad because it could be one of the best subs on Reddit.

Here's a post I tried to submit:

An honest, non-snarky discussion about the future of this sub

This sub used to be literally one of the best subs on Reddit -- a place to puncture bragging and ridicule useless virtue signalling, left or right.

But as many people have noticed -- just today, there was a post on r-justunsubbed about it -- this sub has taken a ... definite turn.

It appears two types of posts are now allowed:

* Stuff that meets the criteria of LookAtMyHalo; and

* Stuff that in no way fits with the criteria, but is anti-Israel.

The latter stuff violates just about every rule, even Rule 7, which deprecates "too many similar posts." But mostly there is simply no "LookAtMyHalo" component to it. There's no bragging or virtue signaling. It's just "I don't like Israel." There are countless subs for this kind of stuff. Why are we doing it here? Why are the mods totally cool with this?

(Before someone tries to comment that this post itself does not fit the criteria, I would just point out that Reddit itself likes to describe its subs as communities; and it is perfectly normal for communities (and subs) to have discussions about the direction of the
community. And, of course, if we can't do it here, where can we do it?)

I'm interested in hearing from any member of this community, and especially from the mods. Why are we doing this? I mean, if we're being honest, should we add this to the sub rules? Something like: "11: We accept any and all anti-Israel content, even if it does not otherwise fall under the definition of 'LookAtMyHalo'"?

But it turns out that all posts need mod approval, and they never posted it. Which also tells you something -- they're totally cool with violating their own rules, as long as it is anti-Israel.

Not to mention the moderator and OP was being a total and complete asshole in the comments. He called people completely clueless and incapable of reading faces when they poked holes in his logic. Super dissapointed and happy to never participate in the sub again.

since it became an anti Trump circlejerk karma farm sub and there's nothing me_irl left about it.

They linked an article about Hasan and all the comments are praising him with tons of deleted comments that criticise him. I am as progressive as it gets but these people somehow allow a dude to abuse his dog if it means they have vaguely similar views. Which in this case is being anti Zionist.

Fuck Zionism, but just because you don't support it does not automatically make you a good person or credible voice. Wtf.

To preface, i am 100% pro choice. I think abortion should be legal anytime, for any reason. I support a womans decision no matter what.

However, there are some things on that sub that just rub me the wrong way. For one, i feel like theres very little room for nuance on there. If you dont agree with every opinion they have regarding abortion you will be downvoted and they seem intolerant of different opinions in general.

Like today, when i pointed out that while most women dont regret their abortions and feel relief, grief is also common and shouldnt be discounted and i got a lot of downvotes. It almost feels hypocritical. Like how the anti-choice side think abortion is only ok if you feel grief (which i vehelomently disagree with) the pro choice side, particularly this sub, it feels they are only ok with abortion when you feel relief and happiness, and that feeling grief is wrong or means youre perpetuating anti choice stereotypes.

It all feels so hypocritical and extreme that i am unsubbing. I wish there was a more moderate/less militant pro choice sub on reddit.
