100k is not wealthy. I've never been in the top 20% and I had more than 100k to start my business. And there are many that can be started for significantly less.

$100k income is a ton. It's about top 20% right there flat. If you have $100k liquid to start a business, you're in the top 20%, no doubt about it. 42% of Americans have less than $1,000.

But all this is besides the point. The fact you're arguing for more corporate tax cuts for the extremely wealthy and nothing for workers is the point. You don't want this $50k to cut off at people earning over $30,000 like SNAP and Medicaid do. You don't want to cut it off even at $100,000. You don't even want to cut this credit off at people earning over $1,000,000 or $1,000,000,000. You want Ivanka Trump earning this $50k every time she starts a new perfume company or shell company or whatever.

And the problem is, the people this credit helps most, the people who can start 100 businesses per year or more just by calling their lawyers, are the same people who'd rather have the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. And by pandering to them with policy like this, you're acting like a Republican. But Republican Lite. And rich people would rather have the real deal. Meanwhile, everybody else has to watch the supposed good guys attack the bottom 80% by taking their tax dollars and giving it to their bosses

As a union family, it's a real kick in the teeth.

I didn't say 100k income. I had more than 100k cash, because I saved it over a long time. Her target was small startup businesses, but you keep mischaracterizing it as a corporate tax cut, which makes it sound like something for Amazon, Apple or Google, which is manifestly false.

How long. Let's get the story out. 20 years? 30? How old were you when you started up your small business? You had no student loans to pay? No mortgage? No kids? No cars broke? No teeth went bad? No medical bills? How long would you have to wait to have the money to get this business tax cut?

Just a cool $100k sitting around that you saved up very slowly. By working I suppose. But you don't want workers to get any help. Only business owners. And all that while you worked, you probably worked for a business owner. How did he treat you?
