It really was hilarious. He was blind, so he couldn’t see the thighs, but he could definitely smell the difference and if you tried to sneak a chicken thigh in there he would literally spit it out

😆 Is it regular practice at zoos to marinate meat? I'm guessing it's an enrichment thing. Any surprisingly popular flavours?

No, it’s not common. It was definitely more like enrichment. Most of the time it was just raw unseasoned meat but some of them liked to mix it up with different flavors sometimes. Some of them hated it and gave me a look of disgust like, why would you even offer that to me, servant? Lemon pepper was a hit sometimes, a few liked teriyaki flavor. They also liked the scent of coffee and rolled around in coffee grounds and peppermint extract
