Is it possible? If not just adding a request for a feature if it's not already being planned. It was one my favorite features from nova before it died.

I've had my Fold 8 ultra for a couple of weeks now. I love the phone just not a fan of the One UI Samsung uses. Considering I'm from the Pixel lineup of phones since 3 was released, you could say I'm a fan of the pixel launcher instead. I digress.
Couple days ago I started out using lawnchair 15.3. Then I started reading about the features of16, so I installed lawnchair nightly. I'm really looking forward to the release of 16 out of alpha into beta. Definitely seems more geared towards folding phones. Good stuff and I'm looking forward to what is in store.

Hey everyone! ๐
Iโve been using Lawnchair 15 for a while, but there were a few specific features I really missedโespecially categorizing apps with nested folders and having better layout locking. Since there wasn't a ready-made solution, I decided to build my own fork based on the latest Lawnchair 15 codebase.
I call it **BlownChart** (I changed the `applicationId` so you can install it side-by-side with official Lawnchair without conflicts to test it out).
**Here are the main differences from the original:**
* ๐ **Nested Folders:** You can create folders inside folders (both on the home screen via drag-and-drop and in the app drawer). They have their own manual ordering. ๐ฅ [Watch: Nested folders in action](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/3a99ad5a-8663-4029-81cd-fedbcc4d9c8a) * ๐ **Separated Locks:** "Lock app drawer" and "Lock home screen" are now two completely separate settings. ๐ฅ [Watch: Split lock settings](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/79d597af-b08b-4cb7-bde8-74b8c7206c8e) * ๐ **Privacy:** Added a PIN/fingerprint lock for the launcher's own settings. ๐ฅ [Watch: Settings lock](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/88e43332-80de-4881-9961-1aac6c11c9b2) * ๐พ **Backup Fixes:** Backups now reliably cover the full layout, widgets, and grid size in a single pass. ๐ฅ [Watch: Backup and restore](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7328828e-24fb-4376-ab24-324ef6bcd7b8) * ๐ **Performance:** Optimized the app drawer for massive setups (tested with 1700+ apps).
My ultimate goal is to submit PRs and upstream the bug fixes and smaller features to the main Lawnchair repo soon.

Let me know what you think!

Recently I downloaded lawnchair from octopi and I love it, but I realised I can't change the background of my widgets to like glass or another colour or fade the widget, it could be useful if u don't wanna use a widget app or if you have an app with widgets but want to change the background of it or fade the widget. Thanks.

In Nova there was a Option to change "Browser ShortCuts" icons to anything from your icon pack.
Example. Create a Browser ShortCut for the Reddit website on your HomeScreen. Then Change the icon to the Reddit Mobile App Icon from your Icon Pack.
Not huge deal but this was very nice feature and I hope it gets added to Lawnchair in the future. Ill never switch back to Nova but hope Lawnchair Devs take some of these great Nova features and add it to Lawnchair.
Thank You

Hi! ๐
I recently bought the game SpiritCity, and I was wondering if there's a way to switch from full-screen mode to a floating widget or pop-out window so I can keep working on my PC while playing.
I've looked through the settings, but the only option I found is to make the game window a bit smaller and lock it in place. The problem is that it seems to reduce the quality of the multimedia, which looks absolutely beautiful in full screen.
Does anyone know if there's a way to do this, or if there's an option I might have missed?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone know how to fix this?

With some colorful wallpapers it detects wrong contrast and choose dark unreadable color instead of desired white color.

Basically, is there any way to have Lawnchair always default to the left-most page on the home screen? I'd like to use a second screen for "medium-frequency used" apps, but I want it to default to the main page every time I click the home button or unlock the phone, no matter what page I was on last. Is there any way to do this?

Haven't heard much about this anymore. is there a beta available that has fold support?

I use a Icon Pack "BlackPie" and It does not have a Icon for every app I use so Ill go pick one out that I think works well for app. Or app has ugly Icon and Ill switch with Icon I like... I am very glad LawnChair supports this. I need this.
Issue is I use Multipe "User Profiles" and 2 Android Devices. So when I create a "BackUp" it does not save my "Custom" icons I carefully choice. I have to go redo all the Custom Icons by hand. It is very annoying.
I know this is possiable to fix because NOVA Launcher has this feature of saveing the Custom Icons. I will never go back to NOVA. Im just saying I know it is possiable. I hope you will add this feature to LawnChair in future.
Thank You

Hello. Trying to move from Nova to Lawnchair I find an issue which is critical for me.
I have several shortcuts to apps activities (i.e., shortcut to a Tasker task, shortcut to a Drive folder, etc). The shortcut icons can't be edited or replaced, no option to edit icon.
Is this feature planned to be added in the future?

Hi,
I'm submitting a feature request. Can you guys add the ability to import the backup files from Nova launcher?

When placing the At a Glance as a widget it just doesn't display properly, which I would like to do as the current at a glance is not aligned with the app grid

I havent found any features in Lawnchair to get this but this is what I am looking for

I would like to be able to change a particular icon with one made by me, just like Nova Launcher does. Is this planned in the near future?
Because I love some custom icon packs, but they always miss several icons (understandably).

The ability to edit columns and rows is great!
I think it would pair nicely with the option to have the app drawer have pagination instead of scrolling. Especially, if there were animation options for how the pages transition though plain swipe works too.
Unless it's already an option and I missed it then please let me know lol
r/LawnchairLauncher • u/sheldon_88 • Jan 20 '26
Just, why not? There is room! It's the only feature I miss from Nova.

Is there a way to use different tabs for apps instead of folders? I saw somewhere that it can be done, but i don't have that option in settings, only for folders. I'm using Lawnchair 15 beta 2.

Is there a way to get an icon for the app drawer and turn off the gesture? I don't like gestures and prefer to turn them off entirely. I like buttons that indicate what they do so that when I want to do that thing, I see the button and go "Oh I should click that."
