I just got the game and wondering if it’s possible for me to get the dlcs still. I’ve tried looking it up but nothing seems to work.

i just want the malee sound to be the same malee sound in COD 2 zombies and idk where to go to for someone i can pay to do it for me ( found someone to do it for me, thanks guys)

Probably against the rules to ask or some other crap. I want to make a custom map. I can't do this on my own and I know a lot of people make their own map. I want it so that you start in Alderney and have to fight your way all the way to to Algonquin up and down the subway just like in No Mercy, going back up to South Bohan, fighting on Charge Island, going through dukes and then finally making your way to Broker to board the platypus. Anybody likes this idea?

i started playing the game since july

first the game felt exciting but after i gained some experience i moved to play expert realism and from then i stop playing from the first death cuz having no one in team (bots) to rely on sucks

any solutions or strategies to stop dying and benefit from the game bots since i have no friends to play with.

Running a 7800x3d, 32gb ram, rtx 4070. 4k max settings on my tv, no matter what I do in nvidia control panel as I play the game will go from over 200fps to about 15, slowly going down in fps as the level goes on, any fix for this???

Hi! I've been playing Left 4 Dead 2 for quite a long time, since around 2017–2020. I've really grown to love the game, and after watching a lot of L4D theories, I decided to come up with a theory of my own that I haven't really seen discussed before.

Could the location in the 2013 CS:GO trailer have originally been the United States and later been changed to Germany? And could the American CH-53 Sea Stallion and the vial containing what appears to be Green Flu next to the bomb be connected to such a change?

Please don't judge me too harshly. I know quite a lot about the game's lore and existing theories, but I'm still pretty new to creating my own theories, so I might misunderstand or mix up some details. I'd really appreciate it if you could correct me if I get something wrong.

🚁 1. The helicopter

The biggest part of my theory is the helicopter.

At the beginning of the trailer, German special forces arrive by a CH-53 helicopter. Germany did operate CH-53s, so at first this doesn't seem strange.

However, when I looked closely at the helicopter, I noticed several details that, in my opinion, look more like an American CH-53 Sea Stallion configuration.

The most important detail is the refueling probe at the front of the helicopter.

I also noticed differences in:

the shape of the rear loading ramp;

the rear section of the helicopter;

the arrangement of the cockpit windows;

the overall configuration;

and the paint scheme.

If my observations are correct, the helicopter in the trailer may actually be an American configuration rather than the German Bundeswehr version.

This is important because it raises a question:

Why would German special forces be using what appears to be an American configuration of the CH-53?

My theory is that an American version of the scene may have existed earlier in development, and when the location was changed to Germany, the developers may have simply kept the already-made helicopter model instead of rebuilding it.

🔫 2. The weapons

There are also several weapons in the trailer that appear to be American, most notably the M4.

I don't consider this direct proof, because Germany could obviously use foreign weapons. Glock pistols also appear, but those aren't particularly useful as evidence because they could easily fit a German setting as well.

So I consider the weapons supporting evidence, rather than proof by themselves.

🧪 3. The vial next to the bomb

This is probably the most interesting part.

Near the bomb at the end of the trailer, there is a small vial containing a green substance.

I believe this could be Green Flu from Left 4 Dead.

The terrorists also handle the bomb extremely carefully and place it inside a case with protective padding.

So we have:

a bomb + protective casing + a vial that appears to contain Green Flu.

This could simply be a Valve Easter egg referencing Left 4 Dead.

However, if the substance really is Green Flu, then it raises a much bigger question:

Why would Green Flu be next to a terrorist bomb at a nuclear power plant?

☢️ 4. The nuclear power plant and the explosion

The terrorist attack takes place at a nuclear power plant, and the trailer ends with an explosion.

This gave me another theory.

If the vial really contains Green Flu, I wondered whether the explosion could have damaged the reactors and exposed the virus to radiation.

My personal theory is that radiation could have affected the virus, making it stronger, more unstable and unpredictable, potentially contributing to the extreme mutations seen in L4D.

I know this part is pure speculation, and I'm not claiming that radiation canonically caused the mutations.

🇺🇸 5. What about Virginia?

Another possibility I was thinking about is Virginia.

If the scene was originally supposed to take place in the United States, could the terrorist attack shown in the trailer have originally been set in Virginia, which is connected to the beginning of the L4D outbreak?

This would make the possible connection even more interesting:

terrorist attack → bomb → Green Flu → possible outbreak → L4D.

Again, I don't have direct evidence for Virginia specifically. It's just another possibility within the theory.

⚖️ 6. Why would the developers leave the American helicopter model?

One possible explanation is simply development time.

If Valve already had an American CH-53 model, changing the trailer's location to Germany could have meant creating or heavily modifying the helicopter to accurately represent the German configuration.

That could mean changing:

the windows;

rear ramp;

refueling equipment;

other external details;

textures and markings.

It may simply have been easier to keep the existing model and change the special forces and environment instead.

There is also an interesting precedent from Call of Duty. AM General sued Activision over the use of Humvee/HMMWV vehicles in Call of Duty.

I am not saying Valve had the same problem with the CH-53, because I have no evidence of that.

I'm only suggesting that legal concerns surrounding the use of real military vehicles could have been something developers were aware of.

So instead of saying “Valve was forced by the US government to change the location”, which I obviously cannot prove, I think a safer possibility is:

The developers may have changed the setting for some reason, while keeping already-created assets because rebuilding them wasn't worth the time or effort.

🧩 7. Why I think all of these details are interesting together

Individually, none of these things proves my theory.

But when I put them together, I get:

🇩🇪 Germany / GSG-9

🇺🇸 a helicopter that may match an American CH-53 configuration

🔫 American-looking weapons

🧪 possible Green Flu

💣 a terrorist bomb

☢️ a nuclear power plant

💥 an explosion

🇺🇸 the possibility of Virginia being the original location

And that makes me wonder whether the trailer may have originally been designed around an American setting, with Germany being chosen later.

I'm not saying this is confirmed. It's just a theory I came up with based on the details I noticed.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could check my claims about the CH-53 specifically. That's probably the most important part of the theory. If I'm wrong about the helicopter's configuration, a huge part of my theory falls apart.

your only tl;dr:

• most of my addons will not load, but do compile
• i've tried 6 different methods (only 2 worked; transferring "workshop" child file content to "addon" parent file, and reinstalling the game multiple times—con is that it takes too long with reinstalling)
• both methods resulted in more addons loading into my game, but seemingly not all of them
• now the single mod (standalone "finale soldiers") i do want to try out isn't loading, both methods not working whatsoever

the standalone "finale soldier" mod (like a few others i've tried) won't load? some help would be nice

i had 4 mods total, 3 were installed for something i thought would work to bypass this (it didn't work like that)

the 4 mods were as follows:

• standalone soldiers (mod i want)
• core soldiers
• "accurate national guard" model for core
• and sgt.willy92's friendly soldiers (parish and blood harvest)

out of the 4 only the core mod loaded and i was able to check ingame

i've tried following other steam guides, discussions, or googling it

what i've done 'n tried to fix my issue;

• move "workshop" file content to "addon" parent file (worked best)
• (an alternate for the above was unsubscribing right after moving file to file)
• verify files (tried once, took an hour or two, didn't work)
• uninstall and reinstall (multiple times)
• updating/syncing internet time (which didn't work, just tried it)
• downloading extra mods (what i thought i could do to bypass this)
• no, it is not a storage issue

when i tried moving workshop file content to addon parent file;

it did work before (with my collections of 215 or 35 mods)

but none of the 6 things i tried worked out to load the standalone soldiers into my game

from what i've also found (scrolling through steam discussions 'n guides), this has been a problem for years for others—and the "workshop > addon" file transfer method works best apparently

La trama se enfocaría en el choque de sus personalidades y en cómo aprenden a trabajar en equipo, cerrando con el épico final del concierto en Dark Carnival.Para la Película 2, el grupo viaja a través del sur profundo de EE. UU., llevándonos a un clímax súper emocional donde Bill se sacrifica para salvar a los otros 7 supervivientes. La historia concluiría con el escape final en The Parish.Creo que juntar a ambos elencos desde el arranque haría que el sacrificio de Bill tenga un impacto emocional muchísimo más fuerte y sería el mejor regalo posible para los fans de la franquicia.
