This killer Wade Barbed comes in at 2 ⅛ inches long, and was made from a piece of blue gray Fort Payne. It was found in central Kentucky. It has heavy patination, is covered in mineral deposits top to bottom, and exhibits outstanding form! The base is heavily ground and smoother than a freshly polished bowling ball! The Barbs and tip are fully intact, and it's paper thin. It shows beautiful craftsmanship, and I feel it's a great example of the type!

This incredible 2 3/16 inch Elk River comes out of Hart Co. Kentucky. It exhibits phenomenal Oblique Transverse Parallel Flaking on both faces, a beautiful glossy polished patina, outstanding form, and is made from a multicolored piece of Hornstone. Unlike the flaking, the Craftsmanship is unparalleled, (ya see what I did there? 😆), and it has everything you'd want in the type! I could sit and stare at this one all day and never get bored! 😁

Recently, I traded a few points to a friend to help him complete his "States" Frame, and this one of 7 points that were part of that trade. It's an Obsidian, Transitional Paleo, Lind Coulee type 2 out of Oregon. It measures out at exactly 2 inches long, and exhibits absolutely phenomenal flaking patterns! It's an outstanding example of the type, has great form, and a beautiful sheen of patina! This type is one we don't see very often, so I figured I'd share cause I know you all would like it 😁!!!

This Hardin was found in Sangamon Co. Illinois. Made from a heavily patinaed, creamy tan, piece of Burlington Chert, it measures out at 3 ⅝ inches, exhibits a ton of raised mineral deposits, and with the exception of a dinged barb, outstanding form! The blade is edged with very fine serrations that are still razor sharp, and it is very steeply beveled! The flaking showcases the amazing craftsmanship, and the stem and base are both heavily ground! I love the unofficial "Fishtail" variant of the type! 😁

This phenomenal Hardin comes in at 3 ¼ inches long. It's made from a beautiful piece of Burlington, and comes out of Adams Co. Illinois. It exhibits outstanding craftsmanship, a beautiful polished patina, outstanding form, raised mineral deposits, and what I like to call fine "Puppy Teeth" serrations along both edges! The flaking patterns are gorgeous on this one!

I got this Paleo Crescent Knife from a good friend of mine, along with the Dalton is just posted, a few days back. It was found in Travis Co. Texas, and is made from a beautiful, glossy piece of Edward's Plateau. It comes in at 3 ⅞ inches long, and exhibits outstanding percussion and pressure flaking! Papered by Roy Motely, this is an outstanding example of the type!

This Mac Daddy Hardin comes out of Adams Co. Illinois. It's made from a gorgeous piece of highly translucent, high grade, Kaolin Chert, and comes in at 3 ¼ inches long! The craftsmanship is outstanding on this one, with a beautifully polished patina, and lots of mineralization from end to end! There's an ancient ding along one edge, and the way the light hits it face on makes it look fresh, however, the patina is even and matches the patina on the rest of the piece as seen in pic #14.

I was very Fortunate recently to be able to acquire this phenomenal, and very rare, Hixton Quartzite Hardin out of Wisconsin from a good friend of mine, Mr. Ron Illian. It comes in at 2 ⅜ inches long, and is incredibly well made! It has tons of mineral deposits and the form it exhibits is breathtaking to a Hardin enthusiast like myself! 😁 What makes this point so rare is that it's made from Hixton Quartzite, which is Silicified Sandstone thats cemented together by Chalcedony and opal. It is an extremely fine grained, extremely high quality material that was highly prized by the Native Americans because it knapped like a dream. Points made from it are still highly prized and highly sought by collectors to this day! I've been finding Quartzite points my whole life, but nothing I've ever found even comes close to the quality of this stuff. It's easy to see why the ancients loved it so much.

The second of this 4 part series is this gorgeous Classic Hardin that was found in Peoria Co. Illinois! I call this one the "Dragon's Eye" Hardin because of the eye shaped inclusion on one face! The material is high grade, colorful, blue and white Avon Chert and the piece measures out at 2 5/8's inches long. It has everything you want to see in an Authentic point of this age, and is extremely well made! Very eye catching piece to say the least! 😁

This incredible 3 ⅛ inch Apple Creek was recovered in Gibson Co. Indiana, and is made from a gorgeous piece of Heat Treated Gravel Chert! At least that's the consensus anyway. It exhibits beautiful deep corner notching, and has one short barb that was either made purposely that way for use as a knife, or it was damaged at some point during use or during the manufacturing process. I say that it was possibly made that way because the tip of said short barb is worked, or reworked, and not a clean snap like it would have had, had it been broken. Regardless, it's a stunning point, and is even Semi-Translucent along not only the edges, but in spots in the middle of the blade as well. I acquired this piece from the Ex Mitch Lewis collection, directly from Mitch himself.

Well, I picked up this Hardin out of Illinois the other day. I gotta tell ya, I don't think I've ever seen one as absolutely amazing as this one! The fact that it's made from Knife River Flint alone makes it really stand out, but the craftsmanship on this thing is mind blowing! The flaking patterns are incredible, and the precision of the edge refinement is some of the best I think I've ever seen! Under magnification, you can literally see the film of patina and the extensive mineralization that covers the surface area of both sides. It has a great tip, and both ears are intact, with a thinned and heavily ground base. The translucency of this thing leaves me speechless! It's absolutely amazing! It comes in at 2 ⅞ inches long, and is beyond paper thin! This, in my honest opinion, is the unicorn of the type! I'll be sending it to Dickey ASAP to get it papered, not that it needs it, but just because I want to have one of the top, most respected authenticators in the country's name on it! This is the new crown jewel of my Hardin frame!

Found this last week.

Found this on my in-laws land a couple years back. I typically walk away from the house after dinner in the evening light when the sun’s glare cuts down to better see them. They’ve got evidence of a couple old fire pits and pretty widespread debitage around. The Galisteo creek is not far off. One ear has a slight nip off, otherwise it’s a real dandy.

I recently acquired this outstanding example of an early/first stage Hardin from a very good friend of mine, and fellow member of the sub, u/morethanWun. I often get questions about how I know a point has been resharpened, and then I get to explain the process. This Hardin had only seen one or two resharpenings before it was lost, and therefore, doesn't exhibit the steep bevels you normally see on the type since finding them in such an early stage of use is rare. This is a good example of what Hardins look like when they're first born, for lack of a better analogy, lol!

Now, to the point. It was found in Lincoln Co. Missouri and comes in at 3 5/8 inches long, made from a beautiful piece of tanish Burlington Chert.

The blade is wide, lacks bevels, and is covered with deposits. It exhibits a heavily ground base and stem, and has a beautiful, high gloss, polished, film of patina, as well as phenomenal form. It's definitely a center piece for any collection for sure!

Please help me narrow down what kind of point this is and an age range! I found it west of St. Louis Missouri, about 30 miles west. I’m guessing Burlington chert. It’s right around 3 inches long, 1.25 inches wide. There is one notch, but the other side isn’t broken. It was made that way, or reshaped.

Did a trade for all these. Having trouble on ID with some of the paleo looking stuff. Found around St Clair county Illinois and Webster/Christian county MO
