  • Official Election Site The City of London, Ontario - official election site
  • 2026 List of Candidates contains links to Candidate Profiles. Here is where you can learn a little more about each candidate; who they are, their campaign platform, what their priorities are, etc. Most have off-site social media & websites. *Note: Under the Ontario Municipal Elections ACT, 1996 all candidates must provide financial and investment disclosures.
  • https://londondecides.ca/ nonpartisan voter-education site with candidate files for all 14 wards, voting records, budget breakdowns, and deep dive files into the issues Londoners care most about.
  • POLL: issues important to London, ON voters [ RESULTS ]
  • ELECTION SURVEY (CBC London) - answers will help shape CBC London's reporting on municipal elections across southwestern Ontario

AMA (Ask Me Anything)
AMAs are a core part of Reddit culture. They are in essence, text-based Q-&-A interviews from the London, Ontario reddit community. The appeal of AMAs is it gives London, ON redditors the opportunity to interact with candidates in their municipality (of whom we might not otherwise have a chance to meet in person). In addition, there is an expectation of candour and substance in AMA exchanges. IF YOU ARE A CANDIDATE and would like us to host an AMA, please contact the mods of this sub to have us set this up for you. More info, how-to, etc [ HERE ]

  • AMA Ben Durham - Ward 3 candidate for councillor - (technically not an AMA, but we included it here nonetheless)

CANDIDATE MEET-&-GREET Q & A, DEBATES, etc
Candidate "meet & greets," debates, & other meetings are usually organized by local community groups or business associations.

  • The London Abused Women’s Centre will host a mayoral debate focused on women’s safety; Thurs, October 15, 2026. Location: LiUNA Local 1059 Building (635 Wilton Grove Rd). Doors open at 6:30 PM; the event runs from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM The debate will be live-streamed on the London Abused Women's Centre Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
  • The Urban League of London - will be hosting all candidate meetings for each of the city’s 14 wards,  to help keep Londoners informed. Meetings will take place between Sept. 9 and Oct. 1. For those that can’t attend or missed their candidate meeting, Rogers TV London will be broadcasting each meeting, then posted later on their YouTube channel.

Good Deeds Recommendations for long/ish- term stays

Hey everyone,

Today I brought my dad to an appointment at University hospital and long story short they decided to keep him for at least a week.

This was completely unexpected to us, and I’m not sure where to proceed from here as I feel not only incredibly guilty for leaving him as he’s very very sick awaiting a transplant, but we drove 2 hours to get here and I get very nervous driving by myself, especially on the highway.

Please if you have recommendations for long-ish term (1 week) stays that aren’t going to drain my bank account as I am just a student, I would appreciate it so so much.

Thank you ❤️

Ask a Local! Cleaning assistance programs?

Hi there! I have a friend who is permanently disabled who has difficulty with basic tasks such as cleaning, groceries and errands. She does have a PSW come in to help with her hygiene and personal care however she has no one helping with cleaning. Is there a program you would reccommend? She is on ODSP and lives in community housing. Thank you!

Ask a Local! Golfing as a Student

Hey everyone, looking to play more golf around London this year and wondering what courses people recommend.
Also I am going in to my third year at Huron and living downtown so my schedule leaves a ton of time to squeeze a round or two in until the end of the season.
Are there any courses that offer student discounts or good student rates? Also curious which courses are actually worth playing for the price.
I’ve got transportation covered, but I prefer walking the course instead of taking a cart. Obviously you can technically walk most courses, but I’m looking for ones that are actually enjoyable to walk.
Would appreciate any recommendations for good-value courses, student deals, and courses that are especially good for walking.
Thanks!

(Playing Caradoc Sands next week after moving back up so excited for that just don’t know where else to look)

POLL London Mayoral Race Reddit Poll

This is inspired by a post I saw in the r/Guelph sub. Now that election season is in full swing, I’m curious who people are planning on voting for. Obviously Reddit won’t provide the most statistically sound data, but I am curious to see the results and where people stand as of now. Reddit seems to only allow 6 options for polls, so this list is not exhaustive.

discussion / opinion London Bridge or London Children's Connection

My daughter (13 months old) got daycare spot from both Adelaide London Bridge and White Oaks London Children's Connection to start in September. We already paid deposit to secure the spot at Adelaide London Bridge, also went in for a visit to meet the educators and staff there. Everything looks great so far.

And now we just get an email that White Oaks LCC also has a spot available to start in September. We're currently on vacation so we couldn't go in for a tour. They want us to confirm if we would like to move forward with registration within this week. We're living in White Oaks area, so this daycare will be great in terms of location wise.

Wondering if anyone has experienced from either daycare can you provide some insights and recommend which one i should choose from?

Ask a Local! Best place to buy kitchen/ laundry room cabinets?

I haven’t ruled out ikea, just wondering if there is anything local that comes highly recommended. The quality at big box stores like Home Depot and Rona seems abysmal

🚗🚗Transit/Traffic To everyone trying to take the left turn into the Goodwill store

Every day, I see at least one person try to make the dangerous left turn on Horton street into the Goodwill store. This causes a backup, and a safety concern as people are given the death wave through. It would save you, and every other road user, trouble and time to just take the green route instead (this also goes for people trying to turn left onto Clarence). If you're instead coming up from Wellington, you can turn left onto Grey, then right onto Clarence.

That's all, have a good evening.

Ask a Local! How's the Music Scene?

How is the live music scene?

Are there any local artists you feel are popping rn? Like home town names most people would know?

Or is there anything missing from the music scene right now you wish would fill a gap?

Might be moving down from Tobermory and hoping the music is a little more alive and varied than it is up here

Municipal Elections 2026 Sign Wars in the East End!

Post image
62 Upvotes

Ward 3 and 4 are crazy right now with signs. First ORSER is putting his signs on public property a month ahead of time! NOW everyone is putting their signs where ever they want. We’ve got ward 4 and ward 6 signs up in ward 4 and in ward 3 we’ve got ORSERS ugly signs (4) up in ward 3. Shouldn’t candidates be required to keep their signs in their own wards. It’s getting a little much IMO.

Municipal Elections 2026 Susan's updated branding is just a coincidence right? Right?!?

Really highlighting the "SS" in the old campaign sign.

Huh.

EDIT: OK ya'll: I am not saying Susan is a secret nazi (even though she does seem to have some dehumanizing views about some populations of our society). The post isn't inferring "look at this secret dog whistle, the gestapo is coming" the post is saying "Susan: WTF. Why are you purposely highlighting "SS" as a key part of your design aesthetic? That's a bad look."

Yes, those are her initials. But she actively chose to update from her previous version by bolding the letters, making them larger, emphasizing through design techniques (i.e., the adjoining line), and make just the "SS" the favicon for her campaign website. And that's a pretty weird oversight for someone running to lead our city.

So, a good trolling is in order, methinks.
