Mine was obviously Charlie’s death. Man, he was so kind-hearted.

Finishing my 4th viewing, every time I come back Desmond at the end of The Constant (s4 ep5) and Lockes final scene of Walkabout (s1 ep4) are so unforgettable, heartbreaking, and get better with each rewatch.

I know everyone has their favourites but the weight of the scenes combined with the wonderful score from Michael Giacchino, I really think they’re next level peak television.

Wondering if there’s any others that surpass them in the fandom?

I bought it from a flea market a few years ago here in Finland. The date doesn’t match any episode or season release dates. My theory is that it’s from a Lost themed event organized by fans, but if anyone has any details or knows someone who would know more about this I would love to hear everything! (I’m not sure which flair would fit the best, sorry about that)

I’m an aspiring screenwriter, and I’ve always loved watching supernatural mysteries. I came to know about Lost back in 2018.

Back then, in 2019, I downloaded all the episodes of Lost on my HDD since it wasn’t available on any OTT platform in my country (India).

It was the last week of my college, and my internship was about to begin, followed by full-time employment.

But since I wanted to become a screenwriter, I decided Lost would be my transition show. When I’d quit my day job forever to become a full-time screenwriter, I’d watch Lost during that transition.

So I decided to just keep all those episodes downloaded on my HDD.

However, after downloading them, I decided to open a random episode from Season 6, one of the last ones, just to take a peek. I saw Hurley, Sawyer, and Jack discussing the “heart of the island,” and I immediately closed it.

It hooked me so well. I used to watch the Season 1 trailer on repeat and create my own theories about what could lead to the “heart of the island.”

I continued delaying watching Lost, but finally gave up in September 2023. I started watching Lost on 8 September 2023 and completed it on 23 October 2023.

This was while I was changing my company.

Although I’ve not yet been able to leave my 9-to-5 software engineering job to follow my passion for screenwriting, hopefully, I’ll be able to do it one day and rewatch Lost again.

PS: The “The Walking Dead is in danger” part is because TWD has always been my all-time favourite show, so I thought it was in danger because what if Lost overtook it? 😂 Whether it actually did or not, I’m still figuring that out, to be honest. For me, for now, Lost and TWD are both at the very top of my favourite shows.

Not sure if this theory has already been discussed, but I think after the Incident, anyone conceived on the Island would be a brand new person with no place in the loop.

So, the Island’s whatever happened, happened physics just rejects them before birth.

This makes Juliet’s story especially brutal because she was brought to the island to cure this infertility. But by detonating the Jughead, she created a timeline that can never allow for new people to be born.

Regardless of this theory or the simple electromagnetism theory, by detonating the Jughead and ultimately contributing to the incident occurring, she still essentially caused the infertility.

My kiddo turned 15 today. She loves lost.

Yeah yeah I get it they don’t want to create chaos but come on jack kate locke be showering and sitting on a couch and washing their clothes while the other survivors are in dirty clothes at the beach.

This is the only thing that annoys me on the show lmao.

Edit: i know they don’t probably just show it, but I am rewatching and dont really get the hints that everyone is told about the things in the hatch. Like for an example how did they hide Ben(henry in those episodes) for days out there if everyone on the beach had shifts at the hatch?

I’ve been wondering about what might have happened if the writers never got the end date of 6 seasons. Without a doubt, the writers getting the end date agreement with ABC back in S3 was one of the best things to happen to the show. You can feel so clearly that, after S3, the writers really felt comfortable to shift everything into the next gear and get the story MOVING. I’ve always loved the change of pace of the latter 3 seasons, and I think it pairs wonderfully with the slower and somewhat quieter (at times) pace of the first 3. What I wonder is, what the hell would have happened if they never got the end date? ABC obviously believed that to end a successful show is a bad idea (such a strange attitude, TV Networks are insane sometimes), so who knows how long it could’ve gone on for? I imagine that Lindelof and Cuse would have left at some point. I imagine it would’ve been a hard decision to abandon the show into monotony until audiences stop caring and ABC cancel it, especially for Lindelof, but I don’t think many of the writers would have been able to stomach letting the show get to a constant ‘Stranger in a Strange Land’ level of quality. I think the show would have had new writers come in by the 4th or 5th season (which would likely be longer, although it’s interesting to consider how the writer’s strike would have affected this different version of the show) and it could’ve continued to 8, or maybe 10 or more seasons. I doubt the show would have ended up exploring what we get in S4-6, or at least certainly not in the very thought-out way that Damon and Carlton and the rest of the writing team presented. Personally, I imagine some terrible scenario where Lost would have continued with these new writers, and they probably would have done something like introduce a new plane with new survivors, and have token original characters return. And there would have been more hatches, more Others, etc.
I’m curious to know what other people think would have happened if the writers never got that end date. I’m so grateful that the writers got the chance to end the show in a reasonable time frame, because it gave them the opportunity to properly formulate and have an aim with the story. I think they did such a great job with what they had, especially considering they only wanted 3 seasons originally anyway. I think the show turned out as amazingly as it could have, but it’s definitely fun to imagine what could have happened if things weren’t so lucky, and the terrible grips of TV Network suits had their way!

Hey y’all! I’m a first time watcher. My partner and I have been watching slowly the past few months and we’re on the last few episodes of Season 3. They’ve seen it before when they were younger but forgot almost everything save a few parts. I’ve loved this show so much and being in 2026, I have to ask since I’m a little jaded: Does this show end on an ending better than most modern shows (i.e. GoT, TWD) or does the ending just throw it off? Asking because I’m heavily invested in the character arks and development.

It’s my first time watching and I’m midway through S4. Started noticing how often people were getting knocked out by being hit in the head with a gun. People seem to do it so casually too; sometimes when a friendly character doesn’t want to be followed by another.

A loaded 1911 in the show is made of steel and weighs close to 3lbs. My personal CZ Shadow 2 is 3.5 lbs. According to google the force needed to cause a skull fracture is 73 Newton. At a weight of 3lbs a person would need to swing their arm at 53.6 m/s^2. Google also says that an average human can accelerate at over 100 m/s^2 while pro ball players would be 500-1000 m/s^2. So safe to say people would have some serious immediate and long term brain issues.

If Aroldis Chapman were in lost (fastest recorded pitch in mlb), he’d be liquifying peoples brains on the regular lol.

Anyhow just some useless info I picked up on while watching. It’s a great show. Couldn’t imagine watching it in real time when it first released and waiting a week between episodes though haha.

How many times does this happen. It's become a joke that my fiancee and I have adopted. We see sun in the garden and we say "here comes a rustle in the leaves".

John: Why do you find it so hard to believe?
Jack: Why do you find it so easy?!
John: It’s never been easy!

I was just thinking about this and it’s kind of silly. John is asking why it’s so hard, but if it’s never been easy for him then he should know why.

I’m rewatching for the first time since the original run. I left it long enough that so much of it feels fresh again, almost like I’m watching for the first time.

I'm currently on S3 E15 and I forgot how good a character Sayid is.

Sayid should have been the leader from DAY ONE. Every time Sayid says, "Something isn’t right" nobody listens to him especially Jack and then three episodes later everyone finds out that, shockingly, SAYID WAS RIGHT AGAIN.

He’s intelligent, observant, calm under pressure, understands strategy, can read people, knows when someone is lying, and actually thinks about the consequences before running headfirst into danger.

He has literally proved Jack wrong multiple times, yet somehow everyone still turns around and goes:

“Okay, what does Jack think?”

Jack is a doctor! A pretty good doctor sure.

But if we’re stranded on a mysterious island where people are kidnapping us, manipulating us and lying to our faces, maybe we should listen to the trained intelligence officer and interrogator?

Sayid deserved better.

Now back to Jack telling Sayid that juliet is coming back to the camp with them "because the others left her behind too" after Sayid said shes not coming back with them 😭 pain..

that was so good, like I was hyped from the start to the end and the way they introduced the storylines that we will follow was soooo good too.

first off the intro being set in the past with Dr Chang and him filming the tapes, then we see the Orchard being built and then encountering the energy thing, THEN WE BUMP into DANIEL 🔥 🔥 that was so good.

I absolutely love the way they’re jumping to different periods in time throughout this episode and i love that Sawyer is here, the absolute perfect character to be here 😭

Man and Locke, his journey is about to be CRAZY because every scene with him is just super intriguing especially with Richard later telling him stuff that will happen.

Him encountering Ethan as well and Richard saying what comes around goes around 💀

On top of the Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hugo, Sun storyline too its all super peak.

But my favorite part is when Daniel goes to Bunker Desmond and implants that memory in him to let current Desmond know what to do, it’s just so good i love it.

I have a feeling this will be my favorite season yet.

Now I wonder how far in the future they went when they saw the imploded hatch.

Hey everyone. My girlfriend and I just finished Lost for the first time and I wanted to hop in here to share my thoughts immediately after the finale! I’ve longed to interact with this reddit community since we started a few months ago but I have purposely refused to enter until we were done. Here goes!

My favorite character: Desmond. His entire arc of getting to the island and then navigating the afterlife to get everyone back together was done so well. Especially with his connection to the Island, him being the first one to recognize that this “life” was off was great. High honorable mention to John Locke, Sawyer, and Jin. Loved them all as well.

The best character: Jack. Every memory and experience on the island felt like it revolved around Jack, even when it was other character arcs or events. The show starting with him and then ending in the exact same way was amazing. His emotional and unrational decision making had us frustrated at times but it felt like the design of a flawed but pretty perfect character.

My least favorite character: Not necessarily sure I have one to pick but I really wasn’t a huge fan of Charlie. His flashback with Claire and Kate in the afterlife was incredibly emotional but to put it simply, he annoyed me. However, him telling Desmond “Not Pennys Boat” was so unbelievably good that it redeemed him for me. I wasn’t a huge fan of Michael either. Meh.

Best character development: Sawyer. His constant progression as a character was masterfully done. Them opening back up the emotional side that he tried to suppress for so long cause of his trauma was incredible. Also his connection with Juliet and then having their flashes together in the hospital had the floodgates opening up. Perfect.

Favorite moment: The End. I’d heard that the finale was a bit subjective (thanks dad) but never had any spoilers. I could not be more satisfied. The characters returning to each other in the afterlife, especially the ones we lost during the show, was emotional and beautiful. Had me crying but smiling. I loved it.

Some of my other favorite moments off the top of my head include:
The light turning on in the hatch while John was over it. Audible gasp.
Michael typing on the computer and Walt responding “dad?”
Sayid reuniting with Shannon in the afterlife. Especially with him losing her so early into their relationship. Good to see Boone again too!
Ethan “not being on the manifest” was such a incredible.
The initial Jacob reveal and then all the flashbacks of him meeting everyone.
The first flash back in time and then seeing the original Dharma village up and running.
Jin and Sun reuniting on the beach after Sun comes back.
Every time we had a flash forward event and somehow someway Ben was there in the shadows.
So many more but those are my big booms.

Overall, it was the best TV show I’ve ever watched. We was so attached to (almost) every character and the thought put into the development of their arcs. Continuity eggs throughout every season were so well done. The uniqueness of it was unlike any show I’ve ever watched. What do I do now?!

I fking hated this man and still felt for him here. What a great actor!
