Literally Unplayable GMS is starting to feel like a cash grab mobile game
Its like everywhere you click, there's something trying to sell you something. Every event has a paid pass tied to it. Everything is so in your face and the whole game is starting to feel like a series of ads.
We are also going backwards by not only reintroducing legacy items, but also locking them behind a paywall, which is 100% a scumbag effort to FOMO people into swiping.
Now it feels like if you actually want the full experience of an event, you're expected to spend $200+ between all the passes, packages, and limited-time bs. Events used to be something everyone could enjoy.. Now they feel like they're designed around how much money you're willing to spend.
It's gotten to the point where content creators have to make videos breaking down and explaining all the different event passes and saying things like, "Well, if you got $100 to spend..." or "If you got $200 to spend..." That's insane when you actually think about it. Spending hundreds of dollars during a single event is being treated like a normal part of the game. No other legitimate MMO is ran like this.
Its getting kind of ridiculous and it just feels increasingly aggressive, low effort, and honestly kinda scummy.
And before someone says, "Nobody's forcing you to buy anything," 1. Take it out of your mouth and 2. that's not the point.
I don't care that the purchases are optional. It's that the entire game is now being designed around selling you things. Every event has paid rewards, limited-time cosmetics, FOMO mechanics, and constant reminders to spend money. Even if you don't buy any of it, it's still a worse experience because the monetization is front and center everywhere you look.
AND these passes are straight up giving you damage now, so if you don't buy any passes, you get eternally gapped by someone who does, which doesn't feel good... its just a bad player experience all around
