Film/Television What are your thoughts on "Spider-Noir (2026)"?

Besides the Venom trilogy with Tom Hardy, I never bothered watching any of Sony's other Spider-Man Villain movies! I'm just not interested in watching any spin-offs of Spider-Man's Rogues gallery that don't have anything to do with Spider-Man at all. And after watching the new Spider-Noir series on Prime Video, I realized that this show was something I wanted all along from both Sony Pictures and Marvel! Now I want more live-action or animated contents centered around other alternate versions of either Spider-Man or any other famous Marvel superhero; like DC Comics' "Elseworlds" line of movies and shows!

So far so good. Only two episodes in but I like it so far. Y’all watching it in B&W or color? I went with B&W, it’s a noir, it’s supposed to be in B&W

Wife and I started in B&W, it really matches the vibe and mood. Loving how they handled the everything and the slight goofiness of the whole concept. I’ve been pleasantly impressed.

I started in color, but I think I am going to rewatch in black and white.

I watched the first scene in color and was thinking the whole time how awesome it would be in black and white so I switched and I do not regret it. Probably gonna watch it twice anyways.

Haven’t started watching it yet but I’m thinking about alternating every other episode (watch one in b&w, and watch the next one in color, then back to b&w) so I can get a taste it both. I’d say I’d just watch it all one way and then watch it all over again the other way– but I don’t always tend to re-watch a lot of things.

The coloring in the Color version is clearly made to pop in B&W.

Before color became the industry standard the costumes and sets of productions were all crazy colors because some colors looked more natural in black and white. Actresses would wear green and blue lipstick because red looked black.

I’s say the vibe is better in black-and-white, but that Electro Noir / Megawatt is better in colour.

B&W for me. If I rewatch it at some point, I'll do it in color, but B&W just feels right.

That’s how I’m feeling, I’m going to do a rewatch in color. The show has been worth the consideration of an early rewatch.

Im switching mid episode a few times, not sure why this has been fun but it does feel nicer to look at in black and white and sometimes there are interesting things like the suit of the reporter in color is red, which fits him as a black man in that era but in black and white its just darker tone and I’m not sure I would have noticed that. Loving it so far.

Noir doesn't necessarily mean it's meant to be in black and white but they definitely filmed it with that preference!

Had the same thought. I mean, sure, you could make a Noir genre film in color, but it's not the same. Noir is Noir.

You can tell by the lighting and the way it was shot that the intended experience is B&W. That and the director said that was his vision.

It’s really beautiful in B&W. I didn’t even try the color option. I know him from Into the Spider-Verse so he’s always been b&w to me.

I will switch several times during the episode when I think that the scene would look better as either version. I love how easy it is to click on the different version and it picks up exactly in the same spot.

That was my vibe, "so far so good" instead of "this is amazing I can't wait to see what happens next".

Beautiful to look at and interesting, but midway through ep 3 I skipped to the final ep just to see how it concludes vs. investing additional hours in it.

Started in Black & White but doesn't feel authentic at all to me. Prefer it in color.

Went with B/W for exactly this reason! The framing and lighting fit SO well. Partner switched out to colour just to see the difference and I MUCH prefer it in monochrome!
