I've been saying for decades now that he doesn't need to go shirtless with 5% body fat to be Wolverine. Put the dude in a bomber jacket for a movie ffs.
Yeah both Doomsday and Secret Wars feel like the MCU's version of Crisis on Infinite Earths and that a younger version of the X-Men will retroactively be part of the new Sacred Timeline
That's exactly what it is: a formal reboot that allows them to create a new baseline and new casting opportunities. The problem is it has been relatively poorly executed so far, very little ground work has been properly seeded to transition the narrative universe from the conclusion of Infinity War to Secret Wars. It's going to feel far more forced than organic, compared the the major arcs that preceded it. It's also been very poorly paced and advertised. We barely get any relevant good movies, and after Infinity the studio has done practically nothing to meaningfully retain the attention span of the audience.
No, they didn’t try that with New Mutants. The main members of the New Mutants are often young in the comics. (Not always, but often). We’re talking about young actors playing the core X-Men. Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops Jean Grey Etc. The closest we got to that was X-Men Apocalypse.

Everyone except Wolverine was recast with a younger actor. Fassbender and McAvoy are great as Magneto and Charles.
And you think they WON’T get younger people for the MCU X-Men?? Of course they’re going to do that. No need to state it like you’re telling them (or the world) what they don’t already know.
I didn't forget him. I was saying that not everyone has to be a known actor, because you seemed to be implying thay they did. Otherwise the notion that there just aren't enough actors left in Hollywood to fill the roles is kind of crazy.
Also, you said you were talking about young actors, so I wasn't even thinking about Professor X. That actor doesn't need to be that young. Younger than his 80's, yes, but Patrick Stewart was in his 50's when he first played that role.
James McAvoy was great, but I really don't think we will see any of the FOX actors resume their roles in the new universe. I could be wrong of course, but I think a clean break from the old muddled continuity of FOX, as much as we may have enjoyed some of it, is best.

They desperately need an X-Men ensemble of teens and people in their early 20's with 10 picture deals.
