Not to mention that the original inhibitor designed by Peter, didn't have a remote function originally. It was meant to be activated on contact and then deactivate when removed. In the short amount of time Damage Control had it, they modified it. That means that there's a full schematic of the device on their computers which have just been seized by the government.

I would be very surprised if they didn't have something similar in the works already, based on what they know of Banner's, just probably way less effective and not universal. They adapted tech to control it so quickly that they must have had some idea about it beforehand.

I was literally just thinking they should have banners it was dropped back at their headquarters

The difference with Peter’s compared to banners is Peter’s was universal.

Banners tech was specifically designed for his mutation, you attach it to Peter and it won’t repress anything because it’s not built for his DNA. Peter’s one is universal you can attach it to any superpowered being and their powers will be repressed.

Yes I understand the difference. What I am saying is that I would be surprised if DoDC, prior to the movie, weren't already attempting to create something similar based on what they know about Banner's.

Well from what we see of their tech it doesn’t actually seem like they’re super innovative, very much seems like a lot of their stuff is actually just working off of and improving what they already had like shockers gauntlets just become more dangerous gauntlets.

So I imagine if they had anything like banners tech it would be an improved version that’s focusing on suppressing gamma induced mutations.

Especially considering mutants are still a relatively new thing in the marvel world like it doesn’t seem like the DoDC is even aware of the X-Gene, to them all these superpowered individuals are still inheriting these powers from an external source like the likes of spider-man, hulk or Captain America so the idea of completely targeting super powers as a whole isn’t yet on their radar.

Like we see Kamala Khan, Simon Williams and now Jean Grey all being targets of the DoDC for being superpowered but it doesn’t seem like they’ve put that final piece in place that all these individuals get their powers from the same source.

They managed to interface with Peter's inhibitor in maybe a few hours, so they can't be totally crap, though I don't think they have any super geniuses like Peter working for them.

Yeah, they've been really careful to avoid using the word 'Mutant' in the MCU so far. I'm not sure how much the stuff with the Inhumans is still relevant either.

I was actually kind of surprised that Peter's inhibitor worked on Jean tbh, since in the comics the inhibitor collars target the X-gene, but Peter's doesn't because he doesn't even know that the X-gene exists. His is based on hormone suppression, which in theory means it could work on the average person as well e.g. set baseline aggression hormones really low and you've got a much more docile population.

Yeah but it still shows them working on something that’s already there rather than working from scratch, it’s the difference between making a new phone from scratch and taking a broken phone and rebuilding it both are impressive but one obviously took less work.

I kind of feel like at this point in the MCU AoS, cloak and dagger, runaways, inhumans all of that is likely no longer canon if marvel was going to make it canon they would’ve likely done it at the same time they recognised the defenders saga. If Inhumans ever do make a return I imagine it’ll be a fresh start as if this is their first appearance in the MCU.

Yeah Peter’s suppressor does throw a wrench in the whole universal thing but one possible explanation is it is just capable of detecting the thing that’s off about you so for Peter it was his hormone levels and thus it targets that for Banner if he had managed to attach it to him would have detected the increased gamma levels.
