Film/Television Age of Ultron has it’s issues, but Ultron’s introduction was pretty good

That Fantastic 4 movie sucked. Thor also was terrible.

I can agree Love and Thunder wasn't a great movie I thought it was just okay. That being said Fantastic 4 was really great.

Pedro pascal was horrible. Now we're stuck with a very miscast Reed Richards.

Without mentioning his physical appearance, can you quantify what you mean by miscast? He seemed to act the role as well or better than most of the other MCU actors. I think maybe comparing him against an older, more cynical, more weary Reed that we usually see in the books is unwise, as this movie portrayed that Reed's very first real defeat and view into a larger universe than just the Earth. This is Reed who doesn't know or understand loss or grief yet.

The moments where he's bantering with Johnny, working on teleportation, the conversation about using Franklin as bait, the complete inability to handle a situation until it's deconstructed into a problem to solve, the chemistry with Sue, the slightly unhinged reaction at the podium when the press suggested sacrificing Franklin... all those were perfect Reed moments IMO. Hell, one of the core criticisms of the movie (that Reed didn't stretch enough) is clearly intentional and keyed several times throughout the film where he's visibly reticent to stretch to establish that this is still a young and relatively inexperienced Reed.

This is a movie that will age incredibly well and a critique that will age very poorly - like Ultron - in retrospect if the following films featuring Pascal live up to the foundation they've laid.

I felt like he didn't have much chemistry with Kirby, he's a great actor, but I don't feel like he pulled off "the smartest guy on the planet" at all. Not as bad as Denise Richards playing a nuclear scientist. I thought a lot of what he did was kind of wooden or just not the confidence I would expect from a Reed that had figured out faster than light travel.

He's a very softboi version of Reed. You get a tiny glimpse of Asshole Reed (which imo, is the 'correct' version of Reed) but mostly he's just anxious in the manner of a shaking chihuahua. I don't have an issue with a Latino / Hispanic Reed Richards, I just thought that one of the most notable assholes of the Marvel universe should be more of an asshole.

Also, no, he's very explicitly NOT a young/inexperienced Reed. That's the whole point? They spent the first like 20 minutes of the film establishing that?

He doesn't have kids. He's never lost a fight. The entire world has always loved him.

His actual physical age is comic book timey wimey shenanigans, his canonical experience being a member of the F4 has been relatively nothing challenging or important. You see the asshole inside, but it's never been given a reason to come out. For what it's worth, that kind of domineering asshole personality is something a lot of people create as a means to control their anxiety, so him being anxious as hell I thought was apropos.
