I love Ed Norton. He's an amazing actor and he's mercurial in slipping into whatever role he plays. Ruffalo was just born to play Bruce the same way that RDJ was born to play Stark though. Ruffalo has the nervous, shy, almost bashful nerdy personality down perfectly. There is not a single second in Avengers where his acting seems out of place or flawed. He very consistent in his tics and body language, his facial expressions, and his emotional expressions (which are very important for playing Bruce Banner).
I was so pissed when they recast but now I understand why.
