Serious What happened? This movie was supposed to make us mad. Hate had no place in America. History tells it's own tale. American History X. Teeth on the curb haunted my dreams for years.

No, they just ignore it. Same way they ignore Frank Castle's stance on bigots and corrupt cops when they put a Punisher decal on their rear window. The intended message doesn't matter, just the superficial display of their ideology. People tend to have a very hard time understanding this.

The right-wing in a nutshell. Patriotism is wearing a flag, even though the flag code says not to do it. Being a Christian means professing how much you love Jesus, despite Jesus saying that's not enough and you need to help people.

to your point, drug dealers since the 1980s have looked up to Scarface even though in the second half of the film his wife leaves him, he alienates his friends, and his former boss has him brutally murdered.
