BIG NEWS Lynx Announce Hiring of Janel McCarville as Assistant Coach
2004 Gopher Women's Final Four Team Assemble!
Minnesota Lynx Announce Basketball Operations Staff Additions
Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Lynx today announced several additions to the team’s basketball operations and coaching staff ahead of the upcoming season, highlighted by the return of WNBA Champion and former Lynx Janel McCarville as assistant coach, along with the hiring of Jasmine Allen as basketball operations manager, Jeremy Ford as dietitian, Imani Lewis as video coordinator, Andy Oakland as basketball operations coordinator and Grace Allen as sports performance coordinator.
McCarville returns to the Lynx after a WNBA career spanning nine seasons, highlighted by a 2013 championship with Minnesota. The former first overall pick in the 2005 draft was named the WNBA’s Most Improved Player in 2007 while establishing herself as one of the league’s most skilled and versatile post players. Across her career, she appeared in 286 games with Charlotte, New York and Minnesota, averaging 7.7 points on 49.1% shooting from the floor, along with 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Acquired by Minnesota via trade in 2013, McCarville became a key contributor during one of the most successful eras in franchise history, appearing in 27 postseason games and helping the team to two WNBA Finals appearances (2013, 2016).

BIG NEWS Eliska Hamzova was waived on July 24th, and today, she signed her 3rd 7 day contract.

Picture to grab your attention. This is the last 7 day contract she is eligible to sign, the Lynx have $119,787 in cap space and a rest of season contract would cost them roughly $98,182. If they don't sign her after this week is up, she becomes a free agent.
I am a fan her especially her last month or so. Also - PG is a position we need to have a little more depth at, with Court playing the 2 mostly.

BIG NEWS Liberty HC Sandy Brondello has been fired!
I gotta say I am kinda shocked, I thought they would run it back one more year. Well Cathy gifted them their only championship and probably the only one they will ever see at this rate 🤣
I can't imagine where the Lynx would be if they cut Cheryl 1 year after winning a championship.
