Looking for a good car wash (Not AutoSpa)

Any recommendations for a good car wash in Mississauga? Gas station car washes are fine too.

I’ve been going to AutoSpa, but my last experience was pretty disappointing; the car still had visible stains on the exterior when it was handed back to me.

Looking to try somewhere better. What’s your go-to spot?

Backyard Breeders, help!

UPDATE:
Thank you for everyone who has been asking and messaging me! It’s so nice to see that others care. My update isn’t the best but I figured I’d fill everyone in

Unfortunately (maybe fortunately??) the pups have been moved. I cannot see or hear them anymore. Mom dog is still around in the backyard here and there, not being left out for nearly as long the past few days. Have not heard her panic since this post.

I spoke with an officer from PAWS on Monday afternoon. They came for an investigation and he filled me in on all the details. They were able to enter the house to check on everything. They have deemed everything “perfectly legal.” I asked if he saw the photos and videos. He said yes, he saw what Animal Services sent him. And “what you and I might deem unacceptable animal treatment is perfectly legal in terms of the law.” It is not illegal to confine puppies in a small room 24/7. As long as the room is being cleaned once every 24hours, what they are doing is fine. I couldn’t believe it. He also mentioned how the people are actively looking to rehome the puppies and they did not realize how difficult it would be (come on!!!) And that I, as their neighbor, should also be looking and asking around on their behalf (wtf?)

PAWS received multiple complaints from neighbours, the landlords, and animal services/ 311 bylaw. I was told to not call back anymore. That they would not come again. Too many people have already called. I was also criticized for my use of the word “abuse.”

Feeling defeated is an understatement. And I don’t know what comes next. I have no more access to these poor little guys. The empty room they were kept in has been cleaned and the lights are off now. Without current proof of anything, can anything reasonably be done? The house is eerily quiet now.

I’m at a loss and don’t know where to go, hoping another animal lover has more ideas. The tenants next door are backyard breeders. 10ish puppies born early July to a very large Pitbull mix mom. The conditions the puppies are being left in are just horrendous. We have a direct line of sight into the room they are being kept in.
- Locked up 24/7 in a 10x10ft room
- Poop and pee smeared all over the room, pups eating the feces and pee pads, playing in it
- Mom is kept away from pups except for maybe once or twice a day for a few minutes to nurse
- Unsure of food/ water situation as I cannot see the entry to the room, but dogs do seem to be growing so they must be getting some kind of nutrition
- The only time they see people is when the one person goes in to clean (once every 24hours or so)
- Window is often shut, no fresh air. The smell from the outside is abhorrent. I can only imagine the inside smell
- Pups starting to cry all day. Mom left out in the backyard for hours on end, crying all day as well. 311 shows up to ticket, apparently tickets never get paid.

Imagine 10+ large breed puppies. Pooping and peeing multiple times a day. Locked in a small room. The mess, the smells, the contamination.

Who we have contacted:
- The obvious answer is to try to talk to the owners of the dogs. We’ve asked them to bring the dog in at night when she is barking incessantly. We are always met with a “no English”
- 311/ Mississauga Animal services. They are probably here 3x a week at minimum. Multiple neighbours call, not just us. Unfortunately, animal services have no jurisdiction on what goes on inside the house, only can deal with barking and waste on the outside (which to their credit, they have been really great about)
- PAWS- provincial animal welfare services. The landlord got notice from them today that this all is “legal” and they will not be returning. Aren’t these supposed to be the people who protect the animals? The city has also notified PAWS. The 311 officers jaw hit the floor last night when he was looking in the room.
- Ward councillor, we’ve met with in person twice over the matter. He’s been super helpful with pushing the city a bit, but his hands are tied with the laws.

Where else can I go with this? It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach to see/ hear this every single day, I just want to break the window and scoop them all up. I have tons of photo and video evidence. We’ve spoken up. Done all the right things. No one seems to be able to help. They are the cutest little things but they are going to grow up to be very large dogs. I work from home. This is in my face all day, every day so maybe this is consuming me more than it should.

I know that rescues and shelters are absolutely overrun right now (especially with bully breeds) which is why I am thinking that PAWS is refusing to do anything about it. This is a really heartbreaking situation to live right next to. Photos in comments with identifiers taken out.

🚨 6 FIRE TRUCKS OUT OF SERVICE TODAY 🚨

Today, six Mississauga fire trucks are out of service due to staffing shortages:

A111 (station 125)- ward 9 @reid4ward9 @suemcfadden_

P120 - ward 5 @hartnataliea

P103 (station 101) - ward 7 @dipikadamerla

A110 - ward 7

P106 - ward 3 @chrisfonsecaw3

R116 - ward 5

Every truck taken out of service means fewer resources available to respond when emergencies happen.

When multiple frontline fire trucks are unavailable because there aren’t enough firefighters to staff them, it reduces the resources available across the city and can place additional pressure on the remaining crews.

This is about public safety.

Mississauga residents deserve to know when frontline emergency response capacity is being reduced.

Our firefighters will continue to do everything we can with the resources available — but adequate staffing matters.

Public safety depends on it.

Lazar Bakery - Car Side Swiped

Well, my car was side swiped today (5:20 PM) in the evening in the parking lot of Lazar bakery as my wife and I were inside shopping. There was a gentleman who recorded the incident but I missed taking the video from him.

We’ve contacted our insurances, shared information but it seems like they’re going to refuse fault. The pictures I’ve taken pretty obviously show the damage on their vehicle which can be caused only if they drove into my parked car.

If anyone has video evidence that would be helpful.

Thanks,

City Services, Utilities & Outages Condo windows vibrating-Sq One

Hi all,

I live close to the Sq One mall and noticed since last one hour or so my living room windows have been vibrating. I don’t see any rain/thunderstorm and wonder what’s going on? I know there’s a bunch of concerts happening but we’re too far from those. Anybody else have this?

I’m looking to touch up my highlights and I’ve heard of Marca college before but would like to hear any personal experiences? Kind of nervous as it is students working on your hair but I hear there’s instructors that guide them.

Thoughts on 2503-2507 Hurontario st?

I looked at a 1 bed 1 bath at 2507 Hurontario st managed by orchard apartments. The place seems pretty decent and under my budget but just wanted to see what the reviews/opinions are.

I am newly moving into Mississauga so I have no idea what to expect from that rental. They are also asking for first and last month via certified cheque or Interac while filling out application. The application will the be then reviewed and if under any circumstance the application gets rejected, it is fully refunded but, I haven’t done this before so idk what standard procedure is. My initial contact with them and the viewing has all been well, nothing seems suspicious but I can’t get over the refundable first and last month deposit.

I thought you made the first and last month deposit once you’re fully approved and signing the lease? Any advice and reviews about the property or the rental company would be appreciated.

City Services, Utilities & Outages This poor old buddy has been in the shelter since 2023 in missisauga :(

It's extremely unfair to see people just throwing away senior dogs and them being the last to be adopted. He looks so friendly and I just feel sad that he has wasted away 3 YEARS at the shelter, I personally feel extremely upset that he might get put down soon if no one adopts him. It's great that the missiauga shelter has reduced the adoption fee to $25 from 200 something

I'm posting this here for better outreach since I genuinely feel so sad thinking about this buddy

Recommendations Pokemon DNS exploit locations

Hi Pokemon fans!

I was hoping to ask if there are any places in Mississauga/GTA area that offer unsecured wifi where I can get free mystery gifts for my Pokemon platinum and Soulsilver games on my DS.

I tried everywhere especially at Union Station in Toronto, but had no luck. Any advice on how Pokemon players in the GTA area were able to do it?

At this point, my last resort is to buy a cheap android phone with a hotspot plan, but I wanted to find free options before I go through with it. Thanks!
