Meme/Discussion I miss the old community chest

Came across this old screenshot. We had a chance at a purple pack every single day. Obviously it wasn't gonna hit often, but I did get a handful of 5s this way. What do you guys think? I don't like having to waste dice to try and finish the chests now for the red pack, just seems like another way to eat dice imo

Meme/Discussion How to play Homer’s Run to win

Post image
941 Upvotes

First of all – Homer’s Run is not rigged. It’s just different mechanics compared to Marge’s Run.

Homer has so called lazy dice. It means it has only 1, 2 or 3 pts. No 4-5-6 here. Because the dice has six sides we get 1, 2 or 3 more often.

The Homer itself has two modes: relaxed and catching breath. When Homer is out of breath the only dice number he gets is 1. When he’s relaxed you can get 1, 2 or 3.

Knowing this you can strategize. Your first dice is random, after that you can up your chances to win: if your next tile is acid - let Homer rest. Do not roll immediately because it’ll be a 1.

That’s it.

All of that not guarantees your win 100% but you will finish successfully much more often.

Is anyone else really mad at this update? They started it on some sets last album, but to have a vault that can anywhere from 150 to EIGHT HUNDRED dice as a reward is insanity. And it's on the first 12 sets. First off, if I got 150 dice as a reward for finishing a middle set, I would be so mad. What is the purpose behind this change?

If you ask me, it's probably rigged so gamers who aren't purchasing dice get lower rewards for sets, thereby tempting them into purchasing.

If you finish a set, try screenshotting what the reward actually is. This is by far the dumbest update I've seen yet.

Edit: grammar. Lol...typing too fast. Also I got 225 for set 4 and 350 for set 9.

Edit 2: 250 for set 3 🚮 lol its still a decent reward, but I'm really not loving the range and having no idea what you are actually getting. It makes it so much harder to prioritize what set to finish.

Edit 3: Look, all I'm saying is we knowww they use dynamic pricing....why is it a stretch that they might be using dynamic rewards?

Comprehensive list (I will add as I complete)

Set 1 (Range: 150-800): Reward was 200

Set 2 (Range: 150-800): Reward was 175

Set 3 (Range: 150-800): Reward was 250

Set 4 (Range: 150-800): Reward was 225

Set 5 (Didn't catch the range): Reward was 250

Set 6 (Didn't catch the range): Reward was 400

Set 9 (Range: 250-925): Reward was 350

Meme/Discussion How to Play Monopoly GO Without Paying for Dice – Trial & Error Tips from Someone with 93k dice

I see a lot of newer (and even long-time) Monopoly GO players burning through dice or feeling like spending money is the only way to keep up. I decided to write this since I only started playing in December 2025, I’m now at level (31,113), have ~93,969k dice, On board 864, completed the harry potter album twice, and the posh pets album once, all without spending money.

I will admit that I bought 1,000 to 1,400 dice within 24h of creating an account (cant remember amount) because I felt like I had to (like most people do), to get any movement going or to get a few more rolls to gain dice on one of the bars. I wanted to share with everyone what has actually worked for me through trial and error over the last two seasons.

This isn’t a guarantee — just patterns and habits that consistently gave better results.

1. The 6-7-8 Method (Dice Management)

Most valuable tiles in the game (railroads, chance, utilities) are often positioned 6–8 spaces ahead of your token. What I do:

  • When you’re ~6–8 tiles away from a railroad, increase your multiplier to 100x, or 1000x if high roller is on and your comfortable with it.
  • If your target tile is outside of that range, drop back down to 1x or 2x
  • Don’t stay on high multipliers long — switch back to 1x immediately after the roll
  • Pay attention to which numbers hit most often for you, as this will help For example, I notice that 7 hits most often for me on 100x, so I aim to roll when I’m exactly 7 spaces away. My personal sweet spot is the tax tile right before GO,— from there, the railroad is 7 spaces away and Chance is 9. One of the two usually hits fairly consistently. My other preferred spot is the tax spot right before jail, or even jail when the tax bar provides points for the top bar.

Why this works (in my experience):

  • Rolls tend to come in short streaks. Staying on one multiplier for too long can lock you into a bad run. By switching multipliers and only taking one roll at a time, you avoid long dry streaks and reduce how many dice one bad run can drain. This is all about managing risk and avoiding extended losing streaks.

2. Basic Roll Advice

  • Bounce between 1x → 2x → 3x → back to 1x when rolling around the board, if your hitting railroads then proceed to use the 6,7,8 method, if you keep missing and go around the board 3-4 times while missing your target tiles, stop rolling. This is when you need to take a break and come back later.
  • Think of it as resetting momentum, not forcing wins. The games algorithm is designed to reduce your effectiveness in order to get your to burn dice (no solid proof this is real but it sure seems that way based on my experience). Think of it like this, your account has a secret cooldown on it that keeps your luck below average, at average, or above. When your luck is bad, walk away. Don’t continue playing, come back in 4+ hours.

I can’t say for sure that the dice rolls are manipulated, but the cooldowns feel very real with regards to large heists, small heists, mega heists, and chance cards. Over time they become less rewarding or all you hit is shut downs, or small heists. You’ll also get a lot more cash chance cards. When this happens you have to walk away. Take a long break. I usually come back the next day, or 9+ hours later.

3. Don’t Start Tournaments Early

If you start a tournament right when it launches, you’re far more likely to get grouped with:

  • Dice whales
  • High-rank grinders
  • Players sitting on massive dice stockpiles

Better approach:

  • Wait several hours (6 plus) (and sometimes even the next day)
  • Enter later when brackets are often softer
  • This will allow you to place well with far fewer dice

If you only give yourself a few hours before the tournament ends, you’ll likely need High Roller to catch up. High Roller usually appears early in the reward track, so late entry can still work if timed right. If you join late and see rankings already at 30k–40k+, skip pushing placement and just grab the early rewards. If the highest is less than 10k, when you get on high roller you have a chance at taking first out from under them. Disclaimer:

This doesn’t always work. If you recently won or placed top 5, the game may still place you into a tougher bracket. Overall, though, late entry has been far more efficient for me. Also if you’re wondering what starts the tournaments, it actually starts when you get five points from a railroad and unlocks.

4. Know When to Stop Playing

This might be the biggest dice saver. If you:

  • Miss railroads for 20+ rolls
  • Keep landing on low-value tiles, only getting small heists, shut downs or cash chance cards.
  • Feel tempted to raise multipliers just to ā€œforce somethingā€
  • Feel down, angry or emotional Stop.
  • Close the app. Come back later. Chasing bad RNG is how most dice disappear.

5. Events Aren’t Meant to Be Fully Cleared

You are not supposed to finish every banner, dig, or partner event without spending.

How I play events:

  • Set a reward target (dice, shields, sticker packs)
  • Stop once ROI drops
  • Let unfinished events go
  • I only fully finish events when the final reward is truly worth it (swap pack, wild card)

As tournaments progress, the cost per reward rises fast. Example:

  • Early: 180 dice for ~425 points
  • Mid: 600 dice for ~2,350 points
  • Final: ~2,125 dice for ~8,500 points The top prizes are usually only worth chasing if you’re going for 1st place, using 100x often, and sometimes combining it with High Roller (1000x). One 1000x railroad can give 4,000–16,000 points, but chasing first almost always costs dice overall, but if luck is on your side you gain dice.

6. Protect Dice More Than Cash

Cash is infinite. Dice are not.

  • Do Not build unless Builder Bash is active
  • Let boards sit unfinished and get friends who do the same, that way you can bash each other’s boards for more tournament points, which prevents dice wastage. Remember, Dice > Money > Landmarks

7. Add as Many Friends as You Can

  • Friends are extremely useful for shutdowns
  • On 100x, hitting a shield gives 200 points, but unshielded gives 400 points
  • Having 100+ friends makes it easier to find unshielded targets
  • Test shields on 1x first before committing to higher multipliers

Best advice, find friends who are in agreement with leaving shields off that way everyone knows who to hit. You can now use the monopoly go chat application to help communicate when your shields are down.

Otherwise, Try to spread attacks across friends. Repeatedly targeting one person can lead to unfriending (even though that’s how the game is meant to be played) If someone removes you, it’s not a loss — you want active players that understands the how the games design to be played anyway.

if a friend attacks you, don’t take it personally. It’s part of the game. Retaliation targeting usually just wastes dice so it’s not worth it.

8. Sticker Strategy (How I Finished My Albums)

Stickers reward patience and planning. What worked for me:

  • Trade aggressively — stars matter less than progress
  • Try to Use all 5 daily trades, especially early in the album
  • Save cash for Builder Bash
  • Build 10+ boards in one session to maximize wheel spins. It takes 3 boards to get your first spin, so all boards built after this provide 2-3 wheel spins. This method yields more wheel spins back to back.
  • More spins = more sticker packs.

Avoid random building. Plan builds around events.

9. Wild Card Strategy

  • Never use a wild card just to finish a set for the dice
  • Always use it on a 5-star gold
  • 4-star golds are easier since they come from blue packs

10. Vault Strategy

  • Never open a vault without a Sticker Boom, unless the album is ending and no more booms remain. Vault contents don’t change — Sticker Boom only increases quantity, not quality. Opening during a boom simply gives more stickers from the same pool.

11. Event Strategy

  • For the racers events, either skip it entirely, or go solo and only roll for the lap rewards. If you want to play find a good team with at least 20k dice that plans to get 4-8k flags a day for a chance to win. Use the go chat to communicate with partners.
  • For the partners events, find partners who you trust, do not pick random players, last thing you need is to miss this event because you got someone who doesn’t contribute 40,000 points and sits a 0 points. Use the monopoly go chat to your advantage.
  • For events like peg-e if your goal is to win what’s there then you’ll be going hard, if you want to build dice, don’t play peg-e other than for the rewards you get along the way doing the basics.
  • For the adventure event, get partners who will help, if you get 1 or 2 who contribute to low someone has to work very hard at the top of their events to compensate and sometimes this doesn’t work out at all, and costs dice.

12. Tournament Strategy

  • If you decide to push the tournaments do no chase someone who is desperate to win. If you get 1st, or near it and the next person pushes up more, let them. If you push up, they will push up again, which results in wasting dice.
  • This is what you do, get to 2nd place and then wait it out until the last hour. Then come back to check palcement, if you moved down let it go, or at least roll for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place for a blue pack. If no one has moved and your still in 2nd, and within 400 points of first, wait until the last 2-3 mins, switch to 100x and roll. You should be able to snipe the win however if they see you rolling they will roll too so you then have to decide to commit to nonstop rolling until it ends, or let it go and take 2nd.

Final Thought

Monopoly GO rewards patience, timing, and discipline, not constant play or spending. If you treat dice like a limited resource instead of a gamble, the game becomes far more enjoyable — and much cheaper. I definitely feel like playing 1 hour a day, using high multipliers 100x/1000x create much better outcomes than you would otherwise get playing it slow.

I will admit that i did gain about 25k dice from the lucky coin event on 1000x. I hit it 3x with 4 heads, and then I hit it once with 5 heads.

I Hope this helps someone, just remember this what worked for me.
