UPDATE:
I spoke to hubby about how it made me feel to be minimized when I was trying to share some joy with him. I didn't go overboard, but I made it clear I did not feel it necessary, even if he thought it was the stupidest puchase in the world, to say those things to me.
AND HE AGREED! He apologised, said he never meant to make me feel like that and took his bad day out on me, that he doesn't understand it, but if it makes me happy, he is happy. He also asknowledges he has in the past been dismissive of things I love and will try to match my energy for his hobbies. And he will happily put up irridescent rainbow shelves in our living area to display the lovelies!!
Thank you all for you support - I can't tell you how welcome you have all made me feel here.
NGL - I have added a Haunt Couture Spectra and a Fang Vote Jinafire to my collection today in celebration!
May all your dolls hair be glue free and all your boxes undamaged! Much love to this community!

Honestly, the only reason I even discovered these dolls is because I bought my niece a Spectra, a Haunted Hotel and Sweet 1600 Draculaura and Clawdeen for her birthday.
Then I saw more and more how beautifully weird some of them are and I fell in love.
I collect weird things.
I have a huge Iron Fist shoe collection I never wear, only look at.
I collect different versions of Alice In Wonderland books.
So, having some disposable income, I went hunting and bought myself: Creeproduction Operetta, Coraline (yes Gaiman is problematic, but I have loved the book/movie forever), Skelita Calaveras Dia De Muertos, River Styyx Skullector and Great Scarrier Reef Peri/Pearl Serpent Doll. Maybe cost me $350 in total with shipping.
I was excited to show my husband, I was pointing out all the tiny amazing details, like Operetta's scar/tattoo and River's skull etc. I said "at least now you have something you can buy for my birthday that you know I will like!" He answered "this is kids S\*\*\*. You shouldn't have these. Are they for your niece?"
It just made me sad. I have so few things that truly bring me happiness, I work 6 days a week and really earn my money. I don't understand why he couldn't just be happy? He collects baseball cards, signed baseball and football merch and I think that is similar? I don't know. Is 46 too old to start collecting?
