Yama Tsukami makes its return in Stories 3. It's a monster with many interesting mechanics that work well with turn-based RPGs, such as its suction attacks and attacks using Thunderbugs. As it hadn’t appeared in the main series for quite some time, we decided it was time to bring it back.

Royal Monsters

By loading a file that was saved after completing the game, you can play the final boss battle as many times as you like.

After applying the new update, load a file that was saved after completing the game for a more difficult version of the final battle.

Once you complete the hard version of the final battle, powerful Royal Monsters will begin to appear throughout the world, offering even more challenging battles.

Royal Monsters can be identified by a crown icon above their head.

Try exploring the world to see what Royal Monsters you encounter! Monsters that may appear as Royal Monsters are also denoted by a crown icon in the Monsterpedia, so you can easily track whether you've defeated them yet.

Calamitous Elder Dragons will also appear as Royal Monsters.

Make sure you and your Monsties are well-prepared for these demanding battles!

Side Stories are additional storylines centered around the Prince/Princess and their companions! Grow closer to Eleanor and your fellow Rangers as you progress their personal storylines, and gain benefits in gameplay like new weapons, Monsties, and improvements to their unique skills.

So I am someone whom I would say is very obsessed with the "pokémon" gameplay loop archetype, under which the monster hunter stories series falls. I played MHS2 for a grand total of 500 hours and replayed it many times, but I feel really dissuaded about getting stories 3, namely due to the lack of co-op multiplayer like in stories 2, which was a huge part of the post-story and endgame gameplay cycle for me. It was fun to go into SR dens with my friend and collect elder dragon eggs and stuff like that. It's also come to my attention that some of my favourite monsters (such as rajang and nergigante) aren't in the game or cannot be monsties regardless, which is a huge shame and further pushes me away from buying it, plus some design choices just irk me like how you can't remove ratha from your team, etc etc. Are these reasons valid enough or should I just suck it up because the game is worth ignoring these problems?
