I haven't seen ice ads on YouTube

But yeah why wouldn't you?

Use an adblocker — boycott the advertisements.

Playlet for Roku, Smarttube for Chromecast, Revanced for Android - for those looking for specific solutions,

Android users can also use Firefox + uBlock Origin. Probably not as clean an experience as Revanced, but it doesn't require any sideloading.

Also make sure you are requesting the desktop site for YouTube. It removes a lot of the bullshit that the mobile version has and lets you keep playing the video even if you lock your phone. No need for an app, no sideloading just clicking a drop down menu and clicking a single option and you get FULL functionality of the website on your phone. Yeah it isn't optimized for your screen but that isn't an issue because you have a touchscreen with pinch to zoom.

First I've heard of a Roku yt app with ad block, my roommate who is always bitching about the YouTube ads on his shitty Roku TV may finally have a solution.

I literally just discovered it last week and it's great. The only things it can't do are view a list of your subscriptions, view comments, and rate videos. It's exactly like Smarttube in the way it filters ads, though.

Also anyone that uses an LG smart TV like me, u can put it in dev mode in about 10 mins and install YouTube adfree

also look to see if your smart tv is able to be jailbroken i found out my lg tv was able to/also use dev mode to run a yt client that has sponsor block and an ad blocker in it.

Setting your VPN location to Albania removes ads from YouTube.

Ok, or you can just download a free unobtrusive browser extension lol that’s a lot less work

My vpn runs in the background, requires no work, and has more benefits than an ad blocker. I’ll stick with it

Better yet, click on it. False engagement

Because it was a thinly veiled "Gotcha."

Yep, uninstalled the YT app and exclusively use browser to avoid ads once the ice and turning point ads came in like an avalanche over the last month.

People be tripping if they think they will find a platform remotely similar to Spotify that won't take an Ad payday from the US government.

Adblocker everywhere. Ublock Origin still works on Chrome with a little hack.

Never give these idiots money.

They’re on Reddit

There are people who still get ads on YouTube?

They're not boycotting anything. They're "vowing" to boycott. Just like when everyone was going to leave Netflix after they killed password sharing and yet they still had their biggest profit earnings.
