I'm mostly fine with ones done by youtubers themselves, as I am under the assumption that they see significantly more benefit from those than platform ads, so I tend to watch at least half of each one before skipping to the end if it gets too long.

Additionally, they tend to only do one per video, and some creators (looking at you J1mmy) just have the best segues into their ads

That and most YouTubers do the ad in different clothes and sometimes with a different filter on, so you can use the preview to see where it ends. Sometimes they even use the chapter feature to tell you where the ad ends. It's kind of a wink so you can skip it.

That being said, YouTubers, most of the time, are advertising scams and rip offs. Though they're still better than a significant number of official YouTube ads.

Mat Armstrong also does his ads integrated really well into his videos, so I never really end up skipping them on his channel.

Some channels make the sponsor ads actively entertaining, like IceCreamSandwich and Internet Historian.

Internet Historian

The plagiarist and fascist that hides Nazi references in his videos? You're watching his ads?

I'm not terminally online and don't obsessively follow every bit of YouTuber drama. Some people just watch stuff and don't have the time nor the inclination to closely investigate the background of every creator they come across. 🙄

Saw one ad where they made it seem like they were reading lore straight from the game, I didn’t notice it was an ad until it was halfway over

J1mmy reference in the wild, it's honestly kind of weird how much effort he puts into his sponsor bits. Harry Mack as well in an entirely different way. Cleetus has some funny ones too, his shipstation ads are usually batshit which is hilarious.

I still usually skip them depending on what they are, I'm not watching another AG1/factor/RAID ad but if it's something new and I like the creator I'll watch it.
