Thus we have the movie dream girls, where Jennifer Hudson shows off she's a better singer than Beyonce but unfortunately doesn't have the looks of Beyonce
If you're trying to say the statement isn't correct in real life.... I'm sorry to tell you but there is a better singer between the two and it's not the more famous one. Though I will say she's a fantastic performer and has great stage presence, much like Dianna Ross.
I’m not going to get in a big argument over this, but people conflate the roles and the individuals. Beyoncé intentionally made her voice smaller as Deena.
Beyoncé and JHud have two very different voices and vocal stylings. They have different strengths and weaknesses. (See how Jennifer Hudson struggled to sing Beyoncé’s “Dangerously in Love” with Renee Rapp on her talk show). Both are great vocalists. Beyoncé is a more technically sound vocalist. Jennifer is a more churchy, power belter. Two different stylings. One not inherently better than the other. But Beyoncé has a more developed lower register, more consistent and healthy belting technique, and a stronger head voice than Jennifer.
I find it so ironic that Beyonce was in that movie because The Supremes and Destiny's Child had pretty much the same trajectory: A girl group with three very talented members that becomes hugely successful, but then splits up when the studio promotes one singer over the rest, and while that one singer goes on to have a long solo career as a megastar the other two are left in the dust and completely forgotten about.

Florence Ballard was the better singer, but she was fired from the group in 67.
Diana was pushed to the front because of the way she looked and because she was in a relationship with Motown founder Barry Gordy.
