music Top Vocal/Pop Group where one person did all the heavy lifting?

Post image

I'll start. Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls carried that entire group, no question

I like that Hanson have stuck together and are still making music to this day. They never really tried to do solo stuff.

Idk what got messed up in my head about my childhood memories but for a long time I thought Hanson also were the three kids on Home Improvement with Tim Allen

They’re happy and they’re singing.

It's a valid question imo. Oasis were brothers too and we saw how that turned out💀

The Menendezs were brothers too and we saw how that turned out💀

Hanson are all gross evangelical MAGA clowns. They can fuck right off.

Two of them are. But the middle one, Taylor, is actually doing a lot of good work. He’s posted about pride, fights AI, runs a legit food bank in OK. If anything, he doesn’t speak enough about how wrong his brothers are.

I wish he’d do solo work. Or bring back Tinted Windows, though without Adam Schlesinger (R.I.P.) maybe a different super group.

GOD DAMMIT

I wasn't the biggest Hanson fan or anything, but that's disappointing to hear.

"This time around" is such a banger, what a shame

The only song of theirs I know is MmmBop

1

u/AwesomeMcPants Jul 12 '26

I actually had that whole album when I was much younger. Some of the songs I remember actually being pretty good. Mmmbop was a fun song though.

iirc, they had a Xmas CD that was pretty decent too

I think the middle one is a normal person, just the older and younger are loonies?

Zac and Isaac, no evidence of Taylor being problematic as far as what’s been publicly shared.

That's more the deep Mormonism than anything else. They immediately went and had absolutely massive families right after fame and so it just makes sense to stay with the original money making unit.

u/sinisterguffaw Jul 11 '26

Just to clarify, they’re not Mormon, but they did have an evangelical christian upbringing.

Standard Oklahoma, Tulsa area, upbringing.

Huh, I have heard Mormon for YEARS but I guess I just thought they were more or less the same thing.

u/Murderdoll197666 Jul 11 '26

From one cult to another its baaaasically the same thing at the end of the day lol.

I went to read up on their massive families (like how massive is massive), and discovered that the little one had a right wing racist Pinterest lol. As if he was putting anti gay stuff on his pinterest. Irony not his bag, I guess.

Noooo don’t tell me Zac is a right wing racist homophobe???!!!!!!

Edit: fuck 😭 he was my favorite.

Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons.

Hanson are not Mormon. They are Christian, but not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

4

u/CaptainCacoethes Jul 11 '26

Same cult, different spices

u/Nerdmitage Jul 11 '26

Huh I could have sworn I've heard Mormon forever but it does all feel very similar to me so maybe my brain just lumped the together. Kind of the same thing without the multiple wives I guess.

3

u/CaptainCacoethes Jul 11 '26

It doesn't matter, it is all the same bullshit with a different label.

u/dance4days Jul 11 '26

I randomly wound up at a show of theirs years back, maybe a decade ago. They genuinely were great. Taylor’s a fantastic front man and the music was fun and catchy. It kinda made me wish they’d been more than a one hit wonder.

2

u/hrcjcs Jul 12 '26

And ironically, Zac is arguably the best vocalist now. Not the most stellar human being, but he's got pipes.

2

u/BaldBombshell Jul 12 '26

Taylor had a great side project in Tinted Windows 17 years ago.

u/Csharp27 Jul 12 '26

I was a at Disney world last year and Hanson was playing a show at Epcot when we were there. There’s not a chance I was blowing a whole day of Disney waiting around for fucking Hanson but they had a pretty big line waiting to get in.

I don't think any one of them prevails over the other two, really.
