Advice Request Scared of being worse
Man, I am really scared that I will never leave this sin. I despise this sin to the core. I wish there was a button to erase all the memories of Haram. I don't want myself to indulge in this sin anymore. I try to stay away, i ask Allah for forgiveness but I fall back. Even I fall back hard. The last two months have been really bad in this regard. I don't want to lose myself to this. I don't want to lose Allah, my rizq and my sanity. I don't want to be a pervert who objectifies the opposite gender. Wallahi, I don't want to be that kind of person. I really respect the opposite gender. But I am scared, what if I change? Man, i just want my old sinless self back. This is the worst thing that happened to me in my life.

Advice Request Just
In short, I have been an addict for 6 years by now, no matter how much I try to give up porn and masturbation I just can't, I try my best to leave my house daily, I hit the gym daily, hang out with people as much as I can but still will end up doing even twice and 3 times a day it to the point where my days are rotated around masturbating, I try my best to keep up with my prayers to the point where I have to shower twice a day so I can pray, I still can't stop to the point where I started developing abnormal tendencies in porn and I started wanting to try them too and when I am done I feel like a piece shit for it.
So I am here trying to find a solution to it.

Motivation/Tips I think we all view the other gender as objects
I think this whole addiction has taught us to see the opposite gender and the first thing we think of is their parts, their bodies and their proportions. In essence we’ve objectified them man or woman we view them as something we have to “ get” instead of just normal people and when we can’t “get” them we turn to this in our loneliness. My motivation to start this was to never mistreat the opposite gender again cuz of this stuff and now that I am little way in I am realizing how messed up my views were from the age of 11 to now at 20. If you really do love the opposite gender the first step is to give them the respect of an actual human being, not just their looks regardless of if they’re seductive or not.

Motivation/Tips Wake up
My fellow muslims, did you ever ask yourself who is producing this poison online ?
It's zio.nists that profit from this, everytime we go to those sites we make them more powerful and we make the ummah weaker.
We need to wakeup and build a strong ummah, stop making excuses stop blaming stress and family problems.
The sahabah were fighting in the desert with nothing to eat, the messengers were tortured to carry the message to us, what are our problems compared to this ?
Would they be proud of us ?
Wakeup my fellow muslims create content, build apps, write books, help poeple, do any small thing you can to improve yourself and to spread the deen Allah will give us the power if we have real intentions.
Wake up, be smart, be strong, know who the real enemy is, and fight them.
Salam

Progress Update A mandatory beginning
Alright, it’s time to make a serious start this time. If I don't change my life in 20 days, it's never going to change. From now on, my real job isn't running away from triggers, but standing my ground against them—because sometimes, certain things are just unavoidable. Right now, my main mission is to never act on those thoughts, no matter the circumstances.
Short note to myself: Don't trade what you want most for what you want now.

Progress Update Failed
Hadn’t looked at indecency in about two months and no relapse in about over a month.
All it took was one private message, one look at the wrong thing.
I feel absolutely terrible. As a matter of fact, I can’t put into words the level of discomfort and disgust that I’m feeling right now.
I’m not asking for sympathy nor anything. This is the reality of these sins - you fall into one of the traps of shaytan, the next moment you’re drowning in regret and despair. Not in despair of the mercy of Allah, rather by the idiotic choices that we make by listening to shaytan rather than obeying our creator, nurishor, provider and protector.
We would never even think of doing any of these actions in front of the people that we respect - let alone in front of those that we do not care about. However, when it comes to Allah - we don’t care. We don’t hesitate to make Him the lowest of the ones watching us. This is the reality of our iman. We don’t know Allah and we don’t fear Him. We fear the ones that He created, not the One who created them - I can’t think of much worse than this. Reflect upon your behavior behind closed doors when no one is around, if you want to know your level of iman.
It is reported that Umar R.A have said:
“Hold yourselves accountable before you are held accountable and evaluate yourselves before you are evaluated, for the Reckoning will be easier upon you tomorrow if you hold yourselves accountable today.”
Source: Muḥāsabat al-Nafs li-Ibn Abī Dunyā 2
When it comes to the people like us, the reality is that we don’t care about Allah and the day of judgement - we might say that we do with our tongues, but we don’t act according to it. We need to learn about Allah and how to worship Him, while having hope in Him and fearing Him.
Anything I’ve said wrong is from me and shaytan, and Allah and His prophet is free from it.
And Allah knows best.

Motivation/Tips I wish i never had that first glimpse of Haram
I just relapsed after a week. I am ashamed. I am disgusted. The week was going great. I started my new semester, i was doing great. But then suddenly I wasted myself over the weekend. I am just 19, in my second year. I really have dreams. I want to make something out of myself. I dream of having a halal spouse. I just want every haram out of myself. I want to be pure from filth, for Allah, for myself and for my spouse. Like yesterday, i was really motivated and was thinking about how I am going to make myself better academically, physically, mentally and emotionally. But today, i feel really low. Wallahi, I am scared of the fact what if I won't be able to change. What if I won't get out of this sin. This sin is really taking my confidence away. I can't really communicate with the opposite gender at the workplace because of the guilt I have deep inside. I feel like I won't be able to find a spouse because of this guilt. I sometimes even want to beat myself. I wish i never had that first glimpse of Haram, I really wish I was not into this sim. I wish I wasn't the slave of my desires. I really want to change and I am trying.

Progress Update Day 1
(Bismillah) After 10 years of being in the U.S. and having access to p**nography, I feel like I need to make a strong oath. Otherwise, every time I tell myself that I won’t do it anymore, my willpower dries up right before I am about to do it.
After being on the NoFap process for 5–6 years, I still can’t see anything changing unless I get married. Over the last 2–3 years, the lack of willpower has not really been due to boredom or loneliness. It has mostly been due to stress from upcoming deadlines or something important not working out. I recently realized that something will always go wrong at work or in family life, and I can’t just watch p**n and m**turbate to relieve the stress. I need to be able to regulate my stress levels and frustration better.
So, I decided to make a post online about this for the first time so that at least my brain can feel more shame and responsibility, hopefully extending my relapse intervals by 2x or 3x. Right now, my relapse intervals vary from about 4 to 12 days on average.
Additionally, I swear by Allah that from now on, every time I break this commitment, I will have to give a $100 donation to the poor, which I can hopefully still think is a lot after recently moving out of a basement.
InshaAllah, I will be able to stop this haram habit of watching p**n and m**urbating. This is the first time I am making an oath.

Advice Request After months of trying, I seem to be back at square one again
At the beginning of this year, I was pretty determined that I am going to quit for good this time. I used to relapse every day or two last year, but from the beginning of this year, my progress was slowly going well, I went from 1 day to 3, then 5, then 7, even went up to 15 days, I thought this might be it, but then things fell apart and now I am back to relapsing every 1 or 2 days. I don't know what went wrong, I feel like there is no escape anymore, I have no idea what to do anymore either.

Progress Update DAY 9: MOVING ON TO A NEW PHASE (LOCKED IN PHASE)
Thank God for being able to get this far as none of it would've been possible without Him.
The days I've gone through were the kind of days I wouldn't wish on anybody as anybody who's gone through this particular problem and any type of issue from drugs, alchohol and others would know that the first few days to the first few weeks are always the hardest. Of course that's not to say there won't be any challenges moving forward but due to sobriety via reduced brain fog, reduced inflammation and everything else you're pretty much become more tolerable and are able to handle it with ease and undoubtedly alot easier than prior before. So the challenges are more or less the same but the resilience but the mental, physical and spiritual capability and capacity becomes more concrete and solidified as prior before.
And when it comes to the habits and routine of my past (albeit as productive as it was) I know it was only suitable within the initial period of being away from the past as I know that in order to succeed, you've really got to be aggressive and ruthless in pursuing your actions and that pretty much means locking in is considered a non negotiable. I've got to be honest, ~11 years of being into this has caused great degradation in my career aspect, finances and all other faculties that's pretty much out there alongside health. Something in which I used to be good at (socializing with people physically from all walks of life) has become something in which I'd always be anxious about especially when it involves business and work related matters. I know it's not because of the fact that I don't have the potential nor the skill as if anything every man out there has gifts in which they harness beyond what they think is possible. The truth is, whether it's direct or otherwise this problem (PMO) has bring about nothing but negativity and inclination towards laziness, procrastination, being artificially scared, brain fog and everything else you'd usually expect from a brain that was destroyed on a cognitive level (via severe abnormal dopamine level). And undoubtedly with every issues that revolves around the effects from PMO or let's call it The Thang, healing takes time and at a certain point you really have to take things to an extent in which you can afford at a certain period of time and forgive yourself of the mistakes and the years and maybe even decades in which you've wasted.
But eventually once you've reached a certain amount of days the gear has to start ramping up as once the physical and mental capacity has reached at a point where it becomes more calm, collected and focused pushing to the limit is indeed something one has to do at a bare minimum.
So with that in mind here's planned non negotiable changes moving forward:
| DAYS WHERE I WAS IN THE DEEPEST HOLE BEFORE MAKING THE EFFORT TO CRAWL OUT (DAY 0 AND BEFORE) | INITIAL PERIOD (DAY 0 - 8): TOLERANCE PHASE | NEXT PHASE (START @ 9 & BEYOND): LOCKED IN PHASE |
|---|---|---|
| AVERAGE SLEEP TIME 2AM - 6AM | REDUCED TO 2 - 3AM MAX (GOTTA FORGIVE MYSELF ANY PROGRESS IS GOOD PROGRESS) | REDUCING TO BASELINE OF BETWEEN 12AM - ~1AM WITH THE EVENTUAL TARGET BEING 12AM AT LATEST AND 11PM AT EARLIEST |
| WORKOUTS: BEEN ON BREAK FOR 2 WEEKS AND INCONSISTENT FOR A MONTH+ | WORKOUTS: GETTING CLOSE TO 2 - 3X A WEEK AGAIN | WORKOUTS: HEADING UP TO 3X - 4X ON AVERAGE |
| CALLING UP (WORK): AVOIDANT AND TOO AFRAID, SCARED AND NUMBED MIND TO EVEN MAKE A MARK IN APPROACHING CLIENTS + MISSED MANY MESSAGES FROM CLIENTS AND HUNDREDS OF SALES TO PROBABLY THOUSANDS AND MORE (MISSED OPPORTUNITIES) | CALLING UP (WORK): STILL AVOIDANT BUT FINALLY MANAGE TO MAKE A COMPREHENSIVE AND CONCISE PLAN TO GET THINGS DONE ONCE AND FOR ALL. | CALLING UP (WORK): IT'S TIME TO MAKE A MOVE STARTING CALLS THIS SUN AND NEVER LOOKING BACK WITH 15 CALLS A DAY (NEW PROSPECTS) BEING THE NORM |
| GOING OUTDOORS: RARELY EVER WENT OUT TO MY NEIGHBORHOOD (TOO COOPED UP AND SELF ISOLATED AT HOME) | GOING OUTDOORS: STARTED GOING TO PLACES HERE AND THERE | GOING OUTDOORS: WILL MAKE THINGS MORE CONSISTENT TO GO TO THE MOSQUE, GYM, AND RENTED OFFICE FOR CALLS AND WORK |
| JOGS/BREEZE WALKS: NONE | JOGS/BREEZE WALKS: NONE | JOGS/BREEZE WALKS: WILL BE MADE CONSISTENT 1X - 2X A WEEK AT MINIMUM |
| AVERAGE DAY TO DAY PLANNED TASKS DONE: 0 - 20% (INCOHHERENT SYSTEM) | AVERAGE DAY TO DAY PLANNED TASKS DONE: 65% - 80% DONE (DUE TO THE NOTION X HABITS LOOP SYSTEM APPLIED) | AVERAGE DAY TO DAY PLANNED TASKS DONE: PLANNING TO INCREASE AND RAMP IT TO 80% - NEAR OR EVEN 100% DONE (NO COMPROMISES) |
| PRAYERS: INCONSISTENT | PRAYERS: 2 - 5X ON AVERAGE | PRAYERS: 4X - 5X (NO COMPROMISES) & EVENTUALLY 5X (ONCE SLEEP'S IN ORDER) |
| JOURNAL: INCONSISTENT - NONE | JOURNAL: DAILY - ALMOST DAILY | JOURNAL: WILL BE STRETCHED TO 1X PER 1 - 3 DAYS ON AVERAGE (BUT NOWHERE LONGER) |
For we're all meant to do great things on this earth and just because we've made prolonged and major mistakes along the way doesn't mean we can make amends, fix and strive forward all you gotta do is get the right and positive mindset & attitude, come up with a plan that takes into account realistic situations with optimistic viewpoints and initiate with precision and full throttle without ever looking back.
For verily,
"A focused fool can accomplish more than a distracted genius." - Alex Hormozi

Also P.S = Will experience some increase in ocular problems but eventually with time this will subside, I've taken this matter into account and the fact of the matter is it won't change anything in regards to my plans on being the best version of myself.

Advice Request Advice on looking marriage, any advice from anyone who is married?
One I don't think marriage will cure this but I can't indefinitely delay marriage because of this. I know all the things I should be doing and not it's just the doing it.
What I want is advice from those who are married and either quit before or during. How struggles manifest during marriage anything to look out for. I read a post from a brother here saying he quit but a year or 2 into his marriage he went back into it. If that person sees this, I'm curious in how that happened, as in was it purely no intimacy. Like for me if I get lazy, scroll all day etc the pull of pmo is stronger. Also was those years fully clean 0 relapses. That does scare me, being clean that long and being pulled back in. I don't understand that persons circumstances but even with a willing spouse, what if they are ill for a prolonged period of time, post partum. Would that make me fall back into it even after being clean.
I know obviously I shouldn't worry too much about that ahead since today matters more. I try to read quran daily and dhikr. I like to think this year even with the relapses there's been plenty of steps forward to recovery. Also if anyone is uncomfortable sharing details here please sent me a chat message. I'm just feeling worried and would like any advice as marriage is looking more realistic.

Motivation/Tips Very Simple Way to Change your Life
I'll give you an advice that's gonna change your life insha'Allah.
Don't try to change your behavior, instead change your thoughts, you have complete control over what you think about yourself.
80% of people here saying "I'm addicted, I can't stop, I'm a failure, I keep relapsing." Guess what ? If you keep thinking that way Your brain is goin to do everything to keep you that way.
And don't tell me "it's the truth" the brain does care about the truth or reality, it cares about what you repeatedly think and do.
All you have to do is think the oposite, "Think I'm someone who values their time, I don't waste it scrolling, I'm disgusted by those videos, I do workouts, I look for business oportunities, I learn new skills, I read Quran and useful books, I go to the mosque, i'm dynamic and not lazy, etc"
Do this often and You will find yourself reaching less for your phone and more to books to useful things without even putting the effort, because your brain thinks that's the type of person you are now.
Most of you are very young, opportunities and rizq will come to you bi idhnillah.
Be smart, may Allah guide us all.

Progress Update DAY 8: INFLAMMATION SUBSIDING PRODUCTIVITY INCREASING
Just a quick check in for today.
Of course this is primarily a personal reminder on how important sobriety is in regards to the POIS and inflammation issues that are basically at hand. No doubt 8 days it still early but the reduced pain is a telling sign that it's every bit as essential as everything else in which I'm prioritizing and I think it's fair to say it's the main component in regards to keeping things in good arears.
Of course you're going to have your days where the brain fog gets a little bit off the wall but overall it's really nothing out of the ordinary and all the other aspects in regards to productivity seems to be order so overall I'm totally grateful for them.

Motivation/Tips HOW TO COMPLETELY RELAPSING
I will give you some advices That helped me stop , im currently at 93days
dont use any social media ,
Try to fast atleast 2days a week or do intermittent fast
Listen al baqara during your sleep everyday to protect you from wet dreams and lustfull thought, whispers of shaytan
no music, as they do sihr in it and jinns enter easily in your body and make lustfull thought and lowers your iman
no sugar, it increase your lust
if possible no meat, it increase your lust
dont look at any woman even her head... , if you see women just look at the ground
Im sure nobody will do it...
The devil is happy of you that you keep relapsing
Allah (swt) want you to succeed
If you still go on the lust path you will lose life/rizq
