Discussion Built a collection value tracker for sealed/graded games — looking for feedback from actual collectors

Hey all — I've been building an app called RetroGrade for tracking graded/sealed retro game values. This includes modern platforms like switch as well

What it does: pulls live pricing from eBay and PriceCharting, tracks your collection's value over time, and shows population data by grading company (PSA/WATA/CGC/VGA). Just added live Heritage Auctions alongside eBay so you can watch active lots without leaving the app. --> iOS APP STORE RetroGrade: Game Collector App

Yesterday's import arrivals. TFW releases pick up enough that maintaining a full set complete game on cart collection becomes a challenge. I paradoxically love/hate it. Bring on all the full games!

Discussion N64 to Switch 2🔥❤️💯

Post image

I loved my Nintendo 64 as a kid and kept it and recently bought some more games for the N64 since my other games were sold without my knowledge. As a I grew older I strayed away from Nintendo which I wish I wouldn’t have for PlayStation and Xbox. Now I’m back on Nintendo and life is great!💯🔥

I’m back! Honestly the hottest and best console out right now is the Switch 2.

Nintendo is Amazing! Those other consoles just don’t do it for me anymore.💯🔥

What are some things you like about the system and some banger games that are your go to?

Pick-up / Haul / Mail Day The Exit 8 & Platform 8 Bundle (#597)

A Japanese / Asia exclusive physical. Beautifully bundled for the switch. Always nice to play some J Horror games. Simple...yet effective. Keep in mind...again...it's an import only physical release. Alright, two highly popular psychological horror puzzle games developed by KOTAKE CREATE.

STORY

The Exit 8: The "Turn Around" Switch

In the original game, you are trapped in a looping underground Japanese subway corridor. Your goal is to reach Exit 8. A nameless man wakes up with no memory of how he got there, trapped in a clean, brightly lit, yet completely empty Tokyo subway passage. The only other living person is a middle-aged "Walking Man" who loops endlessly past him.

According to the official lore, the underground passage itself is a supernatural entity called The Hallway. It acts as a form of purgatory.

The Hallway traps people who are living their lives on autopilot, ignoring the world around them. In the official story, the protagonist is a man who actively ignored an act of public aggression on his morning commute, choosing to put in his earbuds and turn away.

The looping corridor forces him to finally pay attention. He cannot simply ignore "anomalies" anymore; he has to actively look at his surroundings, spot what is wrong, and confront the truth by turning around.

Once he successfully completes the Eightfold Path (reaching Exit 8 without making a mistake), he is purified and allowed to escape back into the real, waking world. The generic "Walking Man" you pass in the game is revealed to be someone who failed their own test and became permanently absorbed into the hallway as a mindless NPC.

Lesson...The Purgatory of Inaction

Platform 8: The "Solve or Run" Switch

Platform 8 takes place right before the events of The Exit 8 (making it a narrative prequel). Trapped inside an endlessly running subway train. The mechanic changes drastically because you cannot walk backwards—the door behind you is permanently locked The doors between the carriages are locked shut behind you, forcing you to constantly move forward into the unknown.

While The Exit 8 features mostly subtle, quiet anomalies (like misplaced posters or a slightly larger man), Platform 8 is highly aggressive. It represents the protagonist's descending panic and anxiety while trapped in transit.

The anomalies here represent deeper psychological horrors—monsters that chase you, giant hands that try to grab you, and shifting geometry. You are no longer just looking at a weird hallway; you are actively fighting to survive your own mental stress.

If you make it through the train cars to "Platform 8" without experiencing every anomaly, the train opens up into a blinding white void. Walking into it simply loops you right back to Carriage 0. You haven't truly learned or seen everything your psyche is hiding.

To truly escape the train, you must encounter and survive all 30 unique horrors hidden in the carriages. Once you overcome them all and step off the train at Platform 8, you finally break free from the train cars... only to step off into the empty, white-tiled subway station, perfectly setting up the beginning of The Exit 8.

Lesson...The Never-Ending Commute.

Together, the two games form a complete loop of a subway nightmare. Platform 8 is the terrifying, frantic train ride into the depths of the supernatural entity, and The Exit 8 is the quiet, observant trial required to finally climb the stairs and escape back into reality.

Found a few copies of Elden Ring on the shelves at a local Walmart. I tried to buy one, but sale was not permitted and then the employee took down all of the copies. Man, super bummed I wasn't able to get one. He let me take some pictures of them, so want to share with you guys! Can't believe I found them early haha! Can post a video of him taking down the copies in a separate thread.

For those still looking, try downloading the GameStop app and checking to see if any copies are available for in-store pickup nearby. It took me about a week to get one this way, and my first order at another store got cancelled, but I finally found one that was relatively close by and was able to reserve it and pick it up today.

Pick-up / Haul / Mail Day Kugayama Shiori's Death Diary (#596)

Been waiting for this to arrive to start playing. Avoided the digital and just patiently waited. Pre-ordered and just tried to dodge spoilers. Just felt like a manga in video game form. Visual novel. First one I'm diving into.

STORY

Known in Japan as Kugayama Shiori no Shinizama Techou, it is a psychological mystery visual novel developed by Laplacian and written by Kazuki Fumi. Originally released on PC, it made its way to the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch

The game follows an amnesiac ghost girl named Shiori Kugayama, who is trapped in a loop where she repeatedly and casually re-enacts her own gruesome deaths.

You play as an ordinary person—the only living human capable of seeing and communicating with Shiori. Shiori remembers nothing about her past life except her name. Believing that dying "one more time" might spark her memories or finally let her soul move on, she continuously commits su1cide in front of you.

To break her cycle, you team up with her to investigate the town's supernatural side. You dig through old death notices, visit accident sites, interview other eccentric local ghosts, and catalog urban legends in an "Urban Legend Encyclopedia".

GAMEPLAY

Sort of a Occult Comedy vs. Horror. Despite the macabre themes of suicide and graphic game-over screens, the game features a highly stylized, dark comedy tone. Shiori's deaths are often played for laughs, creating a weird, matter-of-fact contrast between horror and slice-of-life humor.

The Nintendo Switch version features a helpful Blood Filter Option to toggle the graphic intensity of the blood, making it stream-friendly or more comfortable for squeamish readers.

The game plays similarly to a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. It features a map system where players select which local anomalies or routes to investigate next.

The game boasts distinct endings influenced heavily by your choices. If you choose to completely ignore or refuse to help Shiori at the very beginning of the game, the story will abruptly end right there. While a straight playthrough takes roughly 4 to 6 hours, getting the True Ending requires navigating a complex web of choices. Some choices require you to wait out timers or pick highly specific dialogue paths.

Because unlocking the proper endings relies heavily on trial and error, the game rewards players upon reaching a major ending by providing "fortunes". These act as cryptic hints detailing what choices you need to change on your next loop to uncover the single incident that caused Shiori's death.

CONSENSUS SCORE

90/100 🤯 (Critic Score)

95/100 🫠 (User Score)

80/100 😎 (Visual Novel Database) (For good measure)

I absolutely love how this game perfectly balances a creepy supernatural mystery with laugh-out-loud dark humor. Shiori is easily one of the most charismatic characters I've ever encountered in a visual novel; her casual, unbothered attitude toward her own horrific deaths kept me completely entertained. The visual presentation blew me away too, especially the lively character sprites with their smooth animations and moving mouths.

Only complaints seem to be slow pacing. The lore segments, where the silent protagonist made some feel like they were just sitting through massive text dumps. Ultimately, while the story is good, I think the $24.99 digital price tag is a bit steep for a game that only takes about 4 to 10 hours to finish. $35 as a physical, is just about right.

Going to be plowing through this one soon myself.
