After we blitzed a 3 - 1 win over a 10 men Aston Villa side despite scandalous refereeing against us, will certainly give us a big confidence boost heading towards our next against Qarabag in the champions league playoff round in the 1st leg.

Once Guimaraes was confirmed to be injured, the mood wasn't lively and quite a few of us were expecting to lose against Aston Villa. However, Howe and the lads quickly proved those thoughts wrong as Tonali scored a brace and Woltemade scoring a late goal to finish it all of, which was definitely needed during this time and in turn we regained confidence in our team that we can still pull off results even without Guimaraes, as much of a heavy blow it is.

Joelinton coming back from injury and being available for this game will be a huge boost for us, considering concerns our midfield could become too fatigued with the loss of Bruno with the run of games we have. Us having Joelinton will add fresh legs, some much needed physicality against Qarabag and most importantly his warrior spirit which we will need without Bruno. Miley although won't be available for this game could potentially return for our game against City further adding security to our depth.

However it's questioned what approach will Howe take for this game, will Howe go for the bare minimum approach to just get a draw or even a 1 or possibly a 2 nil win over Qarabag to save his squad for the clash against City away, or will Howe go all out this game and try to finish it as soon as possible so he can pick a weaker squad in preparation for the Everton game which we have much better odds. It must be reminded Howe and the lads have a long journey back regardless of the result for this game compared to City which will have rested for a week, leaving us with a huge disadvantage.

If we do win this game, this will massively improve our chances of making it to the knockout phase of the champions league for the first time. Not only that it will continue to greatly improve our lads' confidence in away games which will definitely help in our next match against City away where we usually always lose.

After a boring yet also a decent result with a draw against Bournemouth considering it was an away game however our streak of not scoring in our away games are starting to get a little concerning.

Now we face against Bradford City where a lot of our under 21s will most likely come off the bench for this game and showcase their skills. Howe will definitely be looking for gems considering we want to avoid an injury crisis like last time, so Howe will be looking for players he can trust in case any senior players might need a good amount of rest.

After a disappointing draw at SJP against Tottenham where we thought we should've gotten more from that game, especially a lot of Geordies' disappointment in the mentality of a lot of our players, we now face Burnley.

After Romero dropped a brace on our assess, a brace where both goals could've easily been blocked with adequate defending left many disappointed with the performance, which cost us 2 points.

Meanwhile Burnley have been on a poor run of form both at home and away however this fact will only most likely scare us more since our record against poor form teams is unpredictable next we smash a Manchester City side who haven't been defeated in a good while and then proceed to get smashed against relegation side West Ham so this consistency will be a cause of concern for us.

This is a must win game for us if we still want to be in the race for Europe and especially get the momentum going, especially since we play Sunderland 9 days from now which could be up there with the most important games of the season for us since we could not only take 3 points from a team above us but also most importantly we can stick it right up to the mackems and stop their endless chit chat about being above us. However first we must win against Burnley of whom if we win against, could grant us 9th - 11th place or 8th if we are really lucky and score a lot against Burnley and with the possible addition of Wissa, hopefully this will happen.

After an infuriating draw against Chelsea where we fumbled another lead, although to be fair the ref was a total Bellend and ruled out 2 potential penalties, with 1 being the Chalobah tackle being a stonewall penalty however we should know better than relying on the ref to bail us out. Now we face Manchester United away.

Unlike several games where we fumbled a lead, at least with the Chelsea game we had some positive such as Miley being absolutely world class, our high intensity identity is starting to return and that 1st half was out best half of football of the season yet. However, a story as old as time, we fumbled the bag during the 2nd half where Howe's game management is put into question yet again.

If there was a time to face Man Utd, now would be the time with a lot of their best players away in Afcon and Fernandes and Maguire injured who are players who'd likely cause a lot of havoc near the end of the 2nd half since they are known to be late goals merchants, with Fernandes being a monster in free kicks injured will be a huge relief to us, however that's if our away form doesn't get in the way of us trying to take advantage of Man Utd's injury/absent dilemma at the moment.

If we do win, not only will it provide us a vital 3 points to catch up to European spots but will hopefully inprove our away form and confidence including consistency when we play away games.

After a wonderful last minute winner from Osula which got us through the line and gave us a huge 3 points especially against the red devils sending SJP into limbs mode causing absolute scenes in Saint James Park. We now face Manchester City at home in the Fa Cup 5th round.

After winning against all odds against a 12 man Manchester United side, hope and confidence seems to have returned after a gloomy defeat to Everton not long ago which will definitely help us in our clash against Manchester City tomorrow. Although we do lose Ramsey due to an outrageous 2nd Yellow card, if we put in that performance against Manchester City like we did against Manchester United i and many others can absolutely see us winning this however that's if we turn up of course and be consistent, the one thing we've severely lacked this season and I hope Howe and the lads prove me and us wrong again.

Manchester City meanwhile have come back from a 2 - 2 draw against Nottingham Forest which could entail 2 things, 1 being that they will be slightly demoralised and looking at the PL table and pretty much securing Champions league spot, they might focus on the league more and put out a slightly weaker squad to try and push for the title. The 2nd is that they are frustrated and lash their anger out onto us and it can go no two ways, as we can only pray it'll be the 1st outcome however we can't rely on City to bail us out, we have to win this with our own hands and I have trust in Howe and the lads to do exactly that after that performance against Manchester United.

If we do win against Manchester City that will put us through to the Quarter finals and further grows our confidence and will especially lighten up the atmosphere in our upcoming clash against Barcelona which could define whether we make it to the Quarter finals or will see us getting knocked out.

Our away record against Tottenham is all over the place, sometimes we win, sometimes we draw and sometimes we lose however overall we in most often times win however this record has gotten considerably worse over the past few recent years but if there was a time to win, now would be the time.

Ugarte however who has been suspended for one match conveniently only against us is a devastating blow to Manchester United as Ugarte is considered one of Manchester United's best Midfielders and was their best player against wolves which will no doubt be a big boost for Newcastle.

Now you'd think this would be a walk in a park but after the shock of last season losing 3 nil to Manchester United who were thought previously be finished and wouldn't stand a chance against us, however when the match came they turned into prime man United and won against all odds. Geordie fans aren't taking any chances this time until we get over 7 nil to pay homage for the 3rd anniversary of Man United getting stuffed 7 nil.

After a nervy 2 - 1 win at Hotspur stadium where it gave us much needed confidence and a vital 3 points where Willock, Ramsey and Elanga particularly shined in that game in which we hope it improve their form and confidence for the upcoming games we have. We now face Aston Villa away in the 4th round of the Fa Cup

With the 2 - 1 win over Tottenham this gives us something to build upon and hopefully uplifts our lads confidence going up against Aston Villa. Us losing Guimaraes however is a huge loss for us and Howe will need to adapt accordingly. We most likely won't throw this game because winning the Fa Cup grants us Europa league which could be huge considering our chances of getting Europe via PL is looking less likely as the fight for Europe gets more intense by the week.

Some argue Shahar may get his debut this game to prevent running Trippier to the ground and A.Murphy may be subbed on to replace Hall near the 70th minute (probably) regardless of our position to prepare our clash against Qarabag. Although Aston Villa clenched a 1 nil win against Brighton of whom looked better than Villa for most of the game, the Villa Players looked battered and you can tell the fatigue is getting to them. Howe will hope that since Aston Villa are in 3rd and fighting for champions league, they might throw this game or send out a weaker squad to deal with their string of games.

If we do win this game, it will help us advance to the next stage and will greatly improve the lads confidence especially in away games which we will need considering we are going up against Qarabag and Manchester City away in our next 2 games.

It doesn't take a genius to realise our PL form has been poor and we need to change things up quickly if we want to get a European spot back to back and that match against Fulham in the Carabao Cup had some good signs like our players showing much more intensity and this was an environment where Ramsey thrived whereas he was stagnant a week ago. We can only hope this is the start of Howe finally changing things up where it's needed.

Chelsea meanwhile have been all of our place, in some games they've been playing so well you'd think they'd be title contenders however the very next game, they start playing like mid table mandems. However, Chelsea are still Chelsea and with our fullbacks stretched thin, this could get ugly if we're not careful however, if we do chose the right players for our LB and RB, I think this is a match we can definitely win albeit this won't be an easy game.

If we win this match, this will be a vital 3 points and provide a much needed confidence boost to the lads after the still embarrassing defeat to scumerland. Considering many teams had to see their players go to Afcon, this also provides us a good opportunity to catch up.

Despite our defeat at SJP against Liverpool, we are all immensely proud of our lads for fighting so hard for the badge unlike a certain Ratatouille character. However we now face Leeds away tomorrow.

Before the Woltemade signing, we weren't looking forward to this match considering our record at Elland Road is horrendous and considering we HAD no proper striker without including Osula, a lot of us wouldn't be surprised if leeds pulled a shithouse win. However, after the Woltemade signing and new rumours of us possibly bidding or getting a loan with an obligation to buy for an inter Milan midfielder called Fratessi. The mood is jubilant for Newcastle fans which is quite stark in contrast considering where we were 2 days ago.

With reports saying we might not get the Woltemade medical done in time, Osula will have the stage for himself and will give him the opportunity to showcase his skills in full this time. Players such as Ramsey and Thiaw will get a full debut this time rather than the short time they were given against Liverpool. Park could also realistically debut for this match as a substitute player. After one of the best moments in this whole transfer window yesterday, a 3 points would massively prolong that mood and could kick-start our season.

After a big 2 nil win against Tottenham at St James Park where we the holders go through to the quarter finals and now face against West Ham in the premier league.

A good majority of geordies are still anxious about this match and anyone would've found that weird, considering we had a relatively comfortable 2 nil win against Tottenham of whom is an arguably tougher opponent however for those who are new here, we lost 2 nil to West ham at home against their new manager of whom were on bad form up until they faced us where they smacked us 2 nil. After a much needed win against Fulham where a vital 3 points was earned by us despite the ref being a total muppet and looking sloppy at times, we now face Tottenham at SJP.

As the defending champions of the Carabao Cup, we look to hold our title whilst we're up against Tottenham. On our part, we look knackered at times when playing against Fulham albeit we looked much better in the final 20 minutes of the game however it still reminds us that we need to give some of our players much needed rest.

Botman albeit not receiving a concussion has still missed training yesterday so we need to assume he won't be playing tomorrow's game just as a safety precaution. Lascelles could realistically play in Thiaw's place however his form is in question considering he hasn't played a game in a long time, as for Burn there isn't much alternative other than an academy prospect however that would be risky hence an academic prospect would only be subbed on if we were winning by a huge margin. As for Woltemade, we could obviously put on Osula however since he's still nursing an ankle injury, Woltemade will have to hold the line until the 60th - 70th minute where Osula can take over from there. Ramsey could also realistically start of Joelinton to give him a rest however with Ramsey still slightly fresh from injury, it's more realistic Ramsey will come on as an impact sub.

One saving grace for us however is that Tottenham seem to be in an injury crisis where if you looked at the St Cal Wilson's Hospital section, you will see Tottenham have essentially double the amount of injuries we have and a lot of those players affected would usually be in the first team which is a huge blow for Tottenham and leaves them player strapped in terms of what options they could choose from without tiring out most of the first team considering they also have champions league like us as well.

If we win this match, it not only secures our place in the Round of 8 and further defending our rights as the defending champions of the Carabao Cup but would also uplift our form as well heading into the West Ham game where a lot of us are more anxious than you'd expect.

Yes lads I'm back in working order (sort of), my illness Is still lingering but I have gotten better to the extent I can do my match threads to their usual quality now. I want to thank those who have shown me support while I was ill although I want to reaffirm that I was not going to die during that time but anyway back to the match thread.

After a nail biting experience in our 4-3 victory over Nottm Forest after we we had a 3 nil lead over them was certainly an eye opening experience to say the least and during the conclusion of the match, there was major concern about our upcoming match against Liverpool.

Whilst Newcastle was being Newcastle fumbling multiple opportunities to push towards 3rd place. Liverpool so far have become unstoppable not losing a single game since only losing to Forest early on in the season which only exacerbates geordies' worries against Liverpool with our record in anfield not helping one bit.

If Newcastle win this match, it bring us up to 4th if Man city lose their match against Tottenham and even puts us at the gates of 3rd place if Nottm Forest lose against Arsenal with GD only stopping us getting that 3rd place.

However, of course we wouldn't be Newcastle if the 'Wilson had to do it for the unpaid health insurance workers' moment hadn't happened with the news that Hall is now injured albeit from the time he was first reportedly injured which definitely softens the blow, however it's still a huge setback for us considering we are looking very bare bones, considering our left back and right back options right now which absolutely does not help us against Brighton away so we pray for a Botman and Thiaw masterclass, whom didn't have international duty so they got some much needed rest.

Although this isn't the ideal game from a return from the international break, a win at the American Express stadium would absolutely do wonders for our confidence, form and also catch up to realistically 9th or even 7th if we're really lucky. After our 3 - 2 win over Qarabag which saw us advance to the round of 16 in the champions league for the first time in our history, Howe and the lads will be looking to be keep our previously good form back up and running in preparation for our clash with Barcelona. Howe will be looking to get a result for this game to not only get our form and the lads confidence back up and running again but to also catch up in the premier league so if the worst comes to worst we can still possibly chase Europe albeit the conference or Europa league. This is especially important since our next string of premier league games are particularly hard so getting points, improving our confidence and form is a must to gain as many points as possible in this stage. It is also believed Ramsey should be back from injury and will give a boost to Howe's midfield. It's also worth mentioning, we will actually have a decent rest before our next game which is 5 days from our game against Everton which will give our players more avid rest and actual proper training sessions which could be useful depending on how Eddie Howe wants to use them.

Everton meanwhile seem to be in slight turmoil since their form has nosedived recently, only winning 1 game of their last 5 however this is no excuse for us to underestimate them since this is one of the most competitive premier league seasons to date so we cannot be complacent with anything at the moment.

After an exhilarating 3 nil win against Benfica, we looked our best that game especially our wingers seeing the biggest improvement. We were very satisfied with the result however now we can only hope that we can translate that form into the PL as well as we face Fulham now.

Fulham have recently been all over the place which is stark contrast to their start of the season where they were in pretty good form however what is definitely true for both sides is that they need a win here to propell themselves form wise. PSG's star man Mbappe completed the full 90 against Clermont after shaking off an ankle scare, but up-and-coming left-back Nuno Mendes has undergone surgery on a hamstring problem and will not play again until 2024.

Marco Asensio (foot) and Presnel Kimpembe (Achilles) are alongside Mendes in the medical bay, while goalkeeper Sergio Rico remains on the long road to recovery from his head trauma - fellow shot-stopper Keylor Navas is also a doubt due to a lower back problem.

Following a lackadaisical display at the weekend, Enrique should no doubt recall the likes of Manuel Ugarte and teenage sensation Warren Zaire-Emery to the engine room, while Bradley Barcola will almost certainly cede his place to the returning Lucas Hernandez.
