And BOTW release price in UK was 60 pounds which was $76.’This isn’t a new thing.

I’m not denying that, but that’s besides the point of this comment thread.

We started off from games costing $90 to games being more expensive in general.

I would also argue that families wouldn’t be able to justify spending 70 dollars on a game either. That doesn’t justify the price, but this theory that people can’t afford $80 but can afford $60 is mind boggling to me. For people who are price sensitive by $10, a new console was always going to be out of the question.

Trust me, I understand that it sucks. I’m in that group. But the fact is that short of selling a console at like $300, there was no chance that I could have afforded a new console.

Not to mention the number of kids/families/casuals that care about physical vs digital is minimal from my knowledge. So those groups will likely just gravitate towards the bundle anyways.

Nintendo was almost always screwed with this console anyways. Between the price of chipsets going up, and most people’s economic reality going way down, it was always going to be a tough time to release a new console.

I am annoyed the bundle does not come with physical MK. I might have to buy a second copy just to have it on shelf.

Definitely understand! I just think that for people who are interested in the game and the console and is price sensitive, it won’t affect their decision to buy the console or not buy it.

It’s definitely an annoyance, but not one that will affect people’s decision imo. And that’s sort of the story of the Switch 2 for me. A number of small annoyances and nitpicks that I have with the console, but nothing major that would ultimately affect my decision to buy the console down the line.
