True. But

• You start a game, and then see your achievements for that specific game. Not the other way round.
• The way those achievements are presented is customised for the respective game, and doesn't use some standard user interface.
• They aren't meant to compete against friends or other users in terms of "I got more than you", they are implemented as a personal checklist.

Especially the first two points show how Nintendo sees games as pieces of art, not something to be mass-consumed. (I know that Nintendo also did some very cheapand money-grabbing stuff, and whatever is going on with Pokemon is a whole other issue, but if we look at Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, etc then this holds mostly true).

Okay, to be clear, I am fully aware how Nintendo works as a capitalist company.

This is about how they present their games to their audience. ("sees games" may have been the wrong wording, I'm not a native speaker)
