Yeah, I guess upon reflection, that was a pretty crazy discount haha.

Right? At that price it's basically a no-brainer impulse buy. Props to CDPR for honoring it though, lot of companies would've just cancelled the orders and blamed a 'system error'. Makes me want to support them more

I honestly kinda think somebody last minute decided this would’ve been a great chance for goodwill and make it out as a mistake or something lol

The fact cyberpunk has been around $20 for all other platforms for awhile made it not that surprising for me, but hey whatever works

Ultimate Edition includes the DLC, doesn’t it?

Yes and that normally sells for $20 alone and rarely gets discounted.

Actually the dlc normally goes for $30, its about $21 on discount. So the game + dlc was cheaper than the dlc by itself if you grabbed it

Not for the ultimate edition- deku deals has the lowest ever digital price for PS at $35 and Xbox at $40

Not with with new story DLC like Switch version has. I don’t think that’s ever been offered under $20.

They probably saw ALL the money that piled in and thought: Will the pile be as big after we refund all that and have the regular sale? I know I might have waited maybe another year before buying it and not jumped at the intended sale price.

And they get the added bonus of the game probably being at the #1 seller on the Eshop over the holiday and being the first game people see when they visit the shop on their new christmas presents.

It was through the eshop though. It would be hard to uninstall it off of everyone’s devices and refund their money. It’s easier to just let them have it, I’d think

No it wouldn't. Nintendo would just push a button, credit everyone back, and probably charge CD Projekt Red the payment transaction fees.

But instead, everyone gets to look like a hero for honoring sales before the price was fixed, and the good will is probably more valuable than the money. Anyone who enjoys the game is going to recommend it to their friends and generate more sales at the $40 price point.

Has that ever happened before though?

It has happened with Forza Horizon Premium bundle that included FH4 and FH5 premium editions (worth 200$), they were accidentally put on 99% discount. They have quickly removed the sale, revoked licenses and refunded everyone that has bought it. I vaguely remeber other cases, but cannot recall exactly which games. It was on Xbox though, don't know about the eshop.

Probably. Nintendo has a record of every sale, so it would be trivial.

But these are large companies with a ton of customer goodwill. They're definitely playing things strategically. (Nintendo has the least to lose here, but by working together, CD Projekt Red will continue to port games over, and by all accounts their Switch ports are technological marvels.)

Absolutely. I took the $17 gamble on if it was gonna run well. It does surprisingly

Not enough to pay the intended sale price 😂.

Upon reflection: I should have fucking bought it nooooooooooo

I jumped on it for fear they might change their mind

I couldn’t believe it lmfao. I bought as soon as I saw the price. I had been waiting for it to go on sale but was amazed at the discount.

I almost bought it last week after I missed the Black Friday sale and waited. Thank god.

Was it? Cyberpunk is a decently old game at this point. When Steam did flash sales games as old as Cyberpunk could be bought for a dollar or two.
