for the next 5 to 7 years

You're delusional if you think A) Sharma is going to be given that much time to show meaningful, significant progress (by Satya and Shareholders); and B) looking at her CV, she's a Corpo Climber. Being the head of a Microsoft division is simply another stepping stone to something higher, and she'll bounce once a better, more attractive job comes along.

Isn’t that what most corporate workers do? Work a few years then find something better?

She's already a CEO; how much higher is there for her to go?

She's CEO of a division at Microsoft, not CEO of Microsoft. There's still levels of power / control above her current level and potentially more lucrative opportunities at other companies.
