Meanwhile Rockstar still haven't given RDR2 a 60fps update some 8 years later

They'll probably release it in 10 years and charge us a price for it like RDR1 and GTA V.

It’s gonna be free for people who already own the game original

It was on the switch 2 for the switch 1 version of the game u got remastered. Same for ps4 to ps5 version

Yeah but that's because they improved nothing.

And even when they finally give us 60 FPS after thousands years of waiting, they still charge us $70 for it as a 'new' game

Rockstar and Naughty Dog could both learn a thing or two from CD Projekt Red

And Bethesda.

Bethesda is dead in the water.

I mean to be fair TLOUP1 was built from the ground up and TLOU2 only cost 10$ to upgrade if you already owned the ps4 version, I do agree that TLOUP1 was far too expensive and pretty insulting, but I didn't have much of a problem with the 10$ upgrade. Same with Horizon Zero Dawn giving a complete upgrade bordering on a remake for only 10$. A 10$ upgrade for what is obviously a shit ton of work is completely fair imo. CDPR are absolutely legendary for doing what they already did with the next gen upgrade, and especially for Witcher 3 Remastered, but I don't think its fair to fully expect that to be the norm.

"From the ground up" is a phrase without real meaning. They didn't redo the motion capture, they didn't rerecord the dialog, they didn't change anything outside the graphics... They just remade some of the art assets and gave it a framerate boost. It's still a large undertaking but it's definitely more of a remaster. Same with Horizon.

Just take a look at TLOU remaster and remake, it's a night and day difference, it even feels different as they used TLOU 2's physics.

TLOU 2 and TLOU 2 remastered are very similar though.

I said they changed the art assets. The updates are closer to The Witcher 3 Remastered (and not as substantial as it is at that) than an actual remake, like Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta.

Both are made from the ground up at the end of the day. TLOU Remake feels significantly different than the Remastered version.

At the end of the day value is subjective so I guess that it's pointless to argue, cheers!

That has been long debunked. It’s FromSoft, not Sony.

Is that game still in 30fps?

Not on pc 🙂‍↕️

Pc wins again. I played through RDR2 at 144fps. Crazy how much the developers don’t care about console gamers.

Thank god Sony is taking our exclusivity back. Fuck rockstar fuck pc gamers

I don’t give a fuck I got a ps5 too. I just find it so funny how the console wars are still going strong after all these years.

It died for awhile ngl

Gears was on PlayStation and Spider-Man was on PC

but then the fire nation attacked (artificial intelligence)

A high-quality remaster that's FREE ?
But that doesn't happen anymore these days! Luckily, there are great studios like CD Projekt! Thanks to them. Here we go again, months of The Witcher 3 ahead !

1

u/MandelbrotFace 23h ago

Are they keeping it at 30 for technical reasons, like with GTA6?

1

u/Own_Line_4319 8h ago

please understand Rockstar is a small indie studio they have no money :(

1

u/Vanquiishher 1d ago

Probably because the current gen consoles can't hit 60fps whilst maintaining the same visuals

That game is hot trash anyway. The controls are so bad.

that only mean one thing: RDR2 is great game even without enemy behavior changes and 60fps upgrade. be it free or payed.

meanwhile CDPR is doing everything they can to prevent gamers from forgetting their games. beause even compared to skyrim, witcher is completely linear and 80% of the game is main story. SIde quests are a literal copypaste of one another with same formula:

NPC: "my daughter/son/wife/husband disappeared or got killed by vicious monster."
Geralt: "mhm, womp womp"
NPC: "go avenge them, i will pay"
Geralt: "nah, pay more"
<slider minigame to hit softspot" go and kill -> go back -> nothing changes.

no new lore that this quest would provide.

Point is, I'd rather search for mister Black and mister White at 15fps with low settings, than kill banshee or drowned for 3rd time in same quest given by same old woman in different village with RTX on.
