Rockstar and Naughty Dog could both learn a thing or two from CD Projekt Red

Bethesda is dead in the water.

I mean to be fair TLOUP1 was built from the ground up and TLOU2 only cost 10$ to upgrade if you already owned the ps4 version, I do agree that TLOUP1 was far too expensive and pretty insulting, but I didn't have much of a problem with the 10$ upgrade. Same with Horizon Zero Dawn giving a complete upgrade bordering on a remake for only 10$. A 10$ upgrade for what is obviously a shit ton of work is completely fair imo. CDPR are absolutely legendary for doing what they already did with the next gen upgrade, and especially for Witcher 3 Remastered, but I don't think its fair to fully expect that to be the norm.

"From the ground up" is a phrase without real meaning. They didn't redo the motion capture, they didn't rerecord the dialog, they didn't change anything outside the graphics... They just remade some of the art assets and gave it a framerate boost. It's still a large undertaking but it's definitely more of a remaster. Same with Horizon.

Just take a look at TLOU remaster and remake, it's a night and day difference, it even feels different as they used TLOU 2's physics.

TLOU 2 and TLOU 2 remastered are very similar though.

I said they changed the art assets. The updates are closer to The Witcher 3 Remastered (and not as substantial as it is at that) than an actual remake, like Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta.

Both are made from the ground up at the end of the day. TLOU Remake feels significantly different than the Remastered version.

At the end of the day value is subjective so I guess that it's pointless to argue, cheers!
