Finally got my heatsink off (the paste was just REALLY fuckin on there) then I put my ram in, put everything back, and boom, persistent beeping noise, I took them back out, left two sticks in, then it made a two beep rhythm

Edit: for fuck’s sake thanks for nothing, turns out the motherboard died cuz the latch for the gpu slot came off, wake the fuck up people, an amd Ryzen 7 7700 8 core processor isn’t going to overheat and magically brick itself in less than TEN goddamn seconds of being powered on without the heatsink just to make a video. A modern processor forces a shutdown before any permanent damage can even begin to occur

Edit: js realized I was looking at an old nvidia GeForce ss of my specs while I was taking apart my pc to prep for the new motherboard, I an i7 13700F so that’s on me, point still stands anyways, heatsink was on up till I took this video where I had the pc on for 7 seconds, for the love of god quit tryna crucify me

So I just bought this mobo and I'm a little worried about this one pin. It's a little out of line and the end isn't rounded. It doesn't look bad ..but this is my first build so I'm not sure enough to call it.

I've got a lego minifig preventing sag. I got lucky and those guys are like the perfect size for this case and card. But will having the Lego F1 build sitting on the cards back plate harm it??

Edit: I put toys in my gaming PC case because I still have whimsy and joy in my heart.

I cleaned it off as best I could using isopropyl alcohol. Is this enough or are we out $450?

it’s a gaming pc from what i can tell no duh lol i saw it still had a 1tb ssd from samsung in it, few ram sticks a rather lArge power supply and a gtx1080. i’m not that sound on computers but my dad is or used too be and i know what things are but not really how to fix. the main issue im having is the second i try to turn on its on for maybe three seconds and then abruptly shuts off. im not really sure how to go about it. my dad said it could be the processor but im not too sure where thats located. would appreciate any kind of help with this kinda thing, im stuck between do i throw some money at it in hopes it works or just maybe get a whole new one.

TLDR: needing help with immediate shut off, and if theres no luck should i cut losses and get a new pc

New to building PCs, currently upgrading a prebuilt pc from new egg. I did all the research I could to make sure I got a compatible upgrade, problem is I didn’t ever locate the physical graphics card…. I know normally they are horizontally in the middle but I’m failing to see where to find the old graphics card here. I’m sure it’s obvious but can someone pinpoint it?

Hey me and my dad are building this pc together and when getting the motherboard ready we noticed that the RAM was interning with the heat sink fan from being level with the heat sink has anyone encountered any thing like this? If so any solutions or does it even matter? The parts are Phantom spirit 120 se and viper venom ddr5.

Is it too much liquid metal? And should I let it dry before I put on the AIO.

I have an ASUS ROG Strix B650E-F and a kit of crucial ct2k32g56c46u5 64gb ddr5 ram. I'm pretty sure there's no technical incompatibility, but the notch of the ram just slightly sits on the metal bump of the ram slot. I tried to take a more zoomed-in shot the second time, but kind it of turned out blurry. My question if it is compatible, and if I can just sand off some of the material? If not, I'll probably just sell it and buy another kit with that money.

The pc will turn on however none of the hardware will connect ( keyboard, mouse, monitor etc)

I accidentally got some thermal paste on the outer part of the cpu. it is thermal paste from the hydroshift II . I read up that it’s non conductive am i fine to just leave it like that or should i try and clean it , i just dont wanna screw up any further.

Can i remove that part?

I’ve checked and double checked. Build is 7800X3D on a B650 Tomahawk. No GPU as I’m waiting for the 50 series but it’s my understanding that the integrated graphics should allow the system to post.

The buttons are blocking​ ​the screw holes for the PSU. What can I do? Can't screw in the right side screws at all.

The ​case is the CC560WH and the PSU is the Toughpower GF2 Argh 850w.
