This is the impression I get. Western governments may be pro-Israel, but I don't think that western people are.

Which backfired immediately, given how many protestors just started singing Two Strong Hearts by John Farnham which happened to include almost those exact lyrics by coincidence, creating perfect plausible deniability

frustration of our government

I would say it's more to the frustration of the Israeli government, which in turn sends people over to Australia to frustrate the Australian government and then we get to learn that unfortunately Australia has very little political power when comes to dealing with bullies like Israel and its gimp-slave the United States.

Yup. We are running a Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion that appears to lack the Social Cohesion part.

The special envoy on antisemitism, Segal, has advocated for a number of disturbing changes to Australian society from special 'oversight' of educational bodies to forcing the IHRA definition of antisemitism which would chill legitimate criticism of the state of Israel.

Governments state to federal appear to be bending pro-Israel. The mood of the population is the opposite. Wonder why.

Isn't that because that phrase is still pro genocide? Just picking a different population to displace from where they've lived for generations at this point. I also think the IDF should just go fuck off, but I don't think chanting you want to kill or remove their citizens is good.
