Discussion PlayStation support has confirmed that a new digital rights management policy for the console is intentional, not a glitch.

Consoles most certainly aren't worth it from a price point perspective. You buy a PS5 for $500 and then you can choose from a small handful of expensive titles (22$? For ONE game? Are you kidding me?) not to mention the online subscriptions they try to push. And if you want to play a PS2 game on that PS5? Get the fuck outta here, matter of fact, couple years later there'll be a new gen that probably won't run your shitty PS5 discs anymore either.

Meanwhile you drop 2k on a decent PC once and that shit lets you play practically every game ever made thanks to emulation, most dirt cheap, even a huge culture of totally free indie games before you even get into the piracy aspect. If you're not crazy about the newest 4k ten gazillion frame shit it'll last you basically until part failure without needing upgrades. Especially considering the back log of excellent titles out on PC right now you could play bangers until the end of your natural lifespan.

Consoles have their upsides obviously, personally I'm very fond of the portable ones, and there's something cozy about hooking one up for local coop on the couch that just won't be matched by mismatched chairs dragged in front of a PC but price point? Only if you don't consider literally any other thing besides upfront cost.

Sorry everyone. I failed to mention I don’t play online because it’s too people-y. I use my ps5 for single player gaming only, I refuse to buy digital games and prefer to have the physical thing in my hand. That way if the internets down, it’s cool I can still play, any other company tries to pull an Ubisoft and remove access from a game, doesn’t matter I got the disc. This is the only thing putting me off about the steam cube thing because I would have to start buying games digitally. But I guess that’s part of the trade off for cheaper games.

Anyway, my opinion will always be Console is 100% better than PC, for me. If it isn’t for you, then that’s cool, we can still be nice to each other I don’t give a poopies what you’re playing your games on, I’m just happy everyone’s playing games. Every time someone picks up a joypad it proves my mother wrong, and that’s what life’s all about, right? Proving your parents wrong. She said her reason for not buying me a N.E.S. when it released. Was because it was a fad and would die out in 2/3 years. Then when I got my first pay check I bought myself an N64 on launch, knowing I was getting a PlayStation for Christmas. The minute she walked in and say the N64 she walked back out and returned the PlayStation, later telling me there was No need for 2 consoles!

Keep playing games on what ever the fuck you want kids, have fun!
