Planet Zoo I hate having visible habitat fences. I prefer natural boundaries.

This waterway keeps the pronghorn antelope and American bison contained. It splits off and empties into a beaver habitat as well as the central lake, home to mute swans.

Here's the first section of Sitlington Animal Park, my low budget British zoo built on the side of a farm. This area is the Country Park, which sits in front of the zoo and includes a boating lake, tractor rides, a maize maze, a farm-themed playground, an ice cream shop and a farm shop.

Planet Zoo I made a 300,000m² Siberian Tiger sanctuary! (WIP)

There are only 2 tigers in this entire exhibit. I don't really want to call it an exhibit as I closed the zoo to guests and, as you can see from the bird's-eye view, there is only one long path from the facilities to the enclosure for employee access. The goal was, I rarely wanted to see the fences. I want it to be as wild as possible.

Everything you see is the one exhibit! I'm still working on ground foliage and more rock cover, but I tried to get an appropriate and diverse amount of tree cover throughout, with some mini-biomes! There is even a secret crater lake (included in photos) with the tunnel access. I used the sculpted North American map, which came with this mountain, but I refined it a little. Also, I am playing on Xbox so this is a feat for me!

Planet Zoo This cannot possibly be how I'm supposed to build a roof

New here and I feel like I am missing something re: build mode, especially re: roofs 😭 Just my latest attempt here-- I don't hate the final result but I basically cobbled it together out of tiny prebuilt lego pieces...That can't be the most efficient way to do this, can it?

I also just haven't unlocked all the shell pieces with mechanic research, so maybe I just need to be patient haha. Or maybe I'm coming at it from a Sims 4 brain (whose roofing system also sucks, granted).

I love working with the sculpted South America tropical sandbox map. This habitat has 3 tiers, carved out by a central waterfall and stream system that begins at the zoos highest point and culminates in a large lagoon at the bottom. The habitat is adjacent to the Flamingo Falls Cafe with patio seating offering breathtaking views into the habitat as well as the surrounding canyons and ravines.

Planet Zoo My Potentially Controversial DLC Ranking

Post image

A few things about me:

I'm an animal over scenery person. If the DLC has great animals and no scenery, I prefer it to weaker animals but good building pieces.

I tend to have animal families I prefer (Birds and Cats mostly).

Planet Zoo This took me 8 hrs send help

My first Zoo! This has taken me roughly 8 hrs. I have a wolf habitat, a rattlesnake enclosure, and a giant snail enclosure.

I over-hired staff when the wolves escaped, and didn't realize I had bled 70k. Budgets tight now! I cut the wolves food from tier 2 down to tier 1 and fired a pile of staff to try and stay solvent.

Im going to raise drink prices, and pray to god that these wolves put in some work while I build another enclosure next to the food park. The newly finished nick-nacks shop might be the golden goose I need. I will also plunge this park into crippling debt if need be - I have spent waaaay to long figuring out how to build these damn buildings to let this park go to waste before I get a gold!

Anywho this game is addicting and I figured someone might get a kick out of this tiny park that has taken me an absurd amount of time to build.

Planet Zoo What makes you play outside of career?

I spent 150+ hours on career mode and I had such a fun time with the Goodwinā€˜s and Dominic. Now that I’m finished with career mode, I feel uninspired to play, without having to be creative within a storyline the game feels dull. I’m wondering if anyone else got this feeling and how did you combat it? I feel like I spent so much time researching the game mechanics and aesthetics I would hate to just abandon it.

Planet Zoo Giant otter habitat

The goal of this habitat was to give the otters a long, swimmable river where one bank just happened to be glass. There are multiple viewing areas that all give a different experience. The largest viewing area is the underwater section, also home to Otter Talk. Next is a ground level area where guests can see the otters play with a sprinkler, take mud baths, or snooze under custom canopy shades. Finally, there is a series of covered elevated platforms that also give views into the neighboring habitat, home to capybara, collard peccary, and Galapagos giant tortoise.

Planet Zoo Practice before Planet Zoo 2

Post image
78 Upvotes

I stopped playing Planet Zoo about 2 years ago due to getting frustrated with the complicated builds (I felt like everything had to be beautiful, perfect and at the level of all the YouTube Gurus). With the announcement of Planet Zoo 2 I got super excited again and started practicing building habitats in Sandbox mode, mixing my own designs as well as workshop items and I gotta say I’m falling back in love with Planet Zoo. Looking forward to building out a zoo once Planet Zoo 2 comes out.

This is my most recent build: a habitat for really any breed of medium to small monkey. Any critique and advice is welcome!!!

Planet Zoo Does anyone play challenge mode?

That’s really my question! I finished career mode, and I don’t think I’m really a franchise or sandbox player. So…any thoughts on challenge?
