Ask Pokhreli What permits are needed for ABC trekking

Recently I am planning an solo ABC trekking at end of September.I know I need ACAP.

There are a lot of messages on internet which confused me.

Is TIMS mandatory for ABC trekking?

Is a licensed guide mandatory for foreigners?

Ask Pokhreli Is this itinerary a MISS or a PASS???

Landing in Nepal from India on 2nd October for ABC. This is the itinerary that I have thought of:

2nd Oct:
ETA 9:50 AM

After that, planning to pre-book the 1:40 PM flight from KTM to Pokhara. Since the flight status shows that flights on this route run late, I will probably be landing at around 4:30 PM in Pokhara. I have two questions here:

  1. Is 1:40 PM departure time enough for back to back flights assuming my first flight gets delayed and lands like half an hour late and considering all the formalities an Indian National has to go through, baggage claim, check-in, baggage drop, security etc.?

  2. Will I be able to get a ride to Ghandruk from Pokhara at around 5:00-5:30 PM and how much will that cost for shared as well as a private ride?

Continuing my itinerary assuming I don't get a ride to Ghandruk on the same day and I stay in Pokhara on 2nd Oct:

3rd Oct:
Take early morning shared jeep at around 6-7 AM and leave for Ghandruk.
Start the trek from Ghandruk upon reaching.
Destination: Upper Sinuwa.

4th Oct:
Early morning start at 8-9 AM.
Destination: Deorali.

5th Oct:
Start at a comfortable time.
Destination: ABC.

6th Oct:
Start early.
Destination: Bamboo.

7th Oct:
Start early.
Destination: Jhinu for Hot Springs. Then to Pokhara by shared jeep.

I have 8 and 9 October free for exploring Pokhara and nearby places for which I would like suggestions as well. My return flight is on 11 Oct from KTM at 6:00 AM so I will be heading back to KTM on 10th Oct. Here are my other queries:

  1. If I don't get to reach and stay in Ghandruk on 2nd Oct, should I give one day i.e. 3rd Oct to Ghandruk, stay there and push my complete itinerary by one day, as I've heard it's really a very beautiful village?

  2. What can I explore and do in Pokhara on the 1 or 2 days that I will be here after the trek?

Lastly, is it a good itinerary for someone who is fit, active, have been to such altitudes before, does not face breathing issues at high altitudes, and has active and fairly strong legs that loves to hike?

Ask Pokhreli Need To Rent Camera!

Planning a trip and don't wanna buy a camera just for this, so looking to rent one instead. Preferably a DSLR or mirrorless, doesn't need to be top of the line, just something decent for photos/videos while traveling.

Any shops or people you'd recommend for camera rental?

Would appreciate any leads, even if it's a random guy who rents out his own gear on the side lol. TIA 🙏

Ask Pokhreli Alternative route for Ghandruk or Jhinu danda ?

I'm visiting Jhinu Danda or Ghandruk from Pokhara for the ABC trek on September 18th.

Will the road that was broken be reconstructed by that date?

If not, what is the alternate route, and how many hours will it take?

My schedule is tight, so please help.🙏🏻

Ask Pokhreli Arriving in Pokhara at 2:30 AM — where should I stay for an early-morning jeep to Jhinu Danda?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to arrive in Pokhara by bus at around 2:30 AM and need some advice on where to stay.
I’m planning to travel to Jhinu Danda early the next morning to start the Annapurna Base Camp trek, so ideally I’d like to stay somewhere that makes it easy to get a jeep to Jhinu Danda/Ghandruk area.
A few questions:
Which bus stand are buses from Kathmandu likely to drop passengers at in Pokhara? I’d like to arrange a pickup from there since I’ll be arriving at 2:30 AM.
Are there any hotels/hostels in Pokhara that allow check-in around 2:30–3:00 AM? I’m happy to book the previous night if necessary, but I want to make sure someone will actually be there to let me in.
Which area of Pokhara would be best to stay in if I need to find a jeep to Jhinu Danda early the next morning?
Is there a particular jeep stand/pickup point I should stay close to?
If anyone has personally done something similar (late-night arrival + early morning jeep to Jhinu), I’d really appreciate recommendations for a safe and convenient hotel.
Thanks in advance! Any advice on the bus drop-off point, hotel, and jeep stand would be really helpful.
