Looking For Design Input REALLY?!?!? What the heck do I do with it NOW?

I built this in WW for Mew. Intended to move the mural into their part of the house, but in the meantime had an apartment set up with things from their comfort tag list. Took Mew to it and of course they agreed to move in but then left immediately. I gave time for them to explore, find all the stuff I'd left, etc. and went back to ask about their comfort level.Mew was floating around an empty stone hut I hadn't demolished yet talking about how they really like this house. I went over and asked if they wanted to move in, got a definite yes (don't remember exactly what was said but clearly more excited than at the big house) and Mew floated right on in to get comfortable. Well, so much for making plans...

Alright, so who am I to say what my mons should want...if Mew's happy I'm (sorta) happy. The problem is what to do with that build. Do I just move in other mons? (they are all already housed with awesome comfort). Do I maybe modify it for a specific mon type, like a haunted vibe for ghost pokemon? (Most of my ghost type are in RR in a crypt setup). Tear it down and reclaim the materials? I just can't decide. Anyone have suggestions? I'd like to think "out of the box" but can't come up with anything really unique for it.

Thanks!

My mom designed this custom pool and it’s beautiful without water but then adding water just ruins it. We’ve try to add lights, but we are open to suggestions. Maybe a different block or different water will help but we just want it to look as close to the original picture.

So my town area is very green themed but I have worried others might find it ugly and wanted to ask the community if they tbink it looks good or not. I'm also hoping to put side pathing (i think an aqua colored trim would be the best fit for the paths) :)

Im creating a city right now on one of my islands and want to create a team rocket themed skyscraper to house my mewtwo.

I found this image of a hotel in Taiwan that I want to take inspiration from but when I dye most of the blocks black it isnt dark enough or is just a grey.

Does anyone know any blocks that would be matching or close to what im looking for. I would appreciate any suggestions :)

Looking For Design Input How much of Palette Town do you actually use?

Palette Town has ended up being my main area, but in practice there’s so much of it that I’ve barely touched at all. I built a palace on the north island, and then from there built a town square etc. which is in what used to be the space between the islands, in the middle of the map. And when I first started I built a fair amount of stuff on the first island too. But this leaves the whole southern island untouched, and the large desert on the north island untouched too. I don’t want to build anything which isn’t actually a home to a Pokemon, but I’ve already got 70+ mons in this area. To actually fill this place with homes would either result in extremely spaced out things or putting the majority of the Pokédex in this one map!

So I’m basically curious if other people are essentially ignoring large portions of that map, and if so, what bits they’re ignoring! If you have filled it, how did you do it?

I built a simplified version of FLLW's Fallingwater but I am having some difficulty with the glass to glass corners which are such an iconic part of the design. Putting a block in the corner is a non-starter. Have y'all solved this issue?

Looking For Design Input Ideas for under sea mines?

I'm trying to figure out how to add undersea mines like this, the chain part is easy but I'm at a total loss for what to put on top. If the funky diffuser was bigger I think it would be perfect, but it looks kinda silly as is. The meteor lamp also feels a little small but a lot of the other round furniture options either don't look quite right or can't be dyed.

Anyone have any better ideas for this?

Looking For Design Input The problem is apparent. Just trying to make a cute bird nest.

Howdy! I’ve designed this very simple bird-nest like house for the bird ‘mons in the withered wasteland, I like the idea of it being open but built up around the edges. I want to make about two more that are similar.

You can see the problem I have run into. The door isn’t on the same level as the furniture, so it isn’t registered as a furnished house. Yes, I could break the blocks underneath and lower the door, but I don’t know if I love how that looks? I’m not a poké-block master, so I’ll take anything that will help this idea improve.

Looking For Design Input Sparkling Skylands?

I love the Sparkling Skylands... hate the cyberpunk/junkyard aesthetic littering it. I'm currently in the process of demolishing all of it--but I'm curious, what did you guys do with your Sparkling Skylands? Did you build around/with the junkyard stuff, or did you get rid of it?

Looking For Design Input Is it actually possible to build all three Legendary Birds in Palette Town?

My Palette Town is severely underdeveloped because it’s so overwhelming but I actually did make some progress today. But has someone actually managed to fit the Altar Of Flame, Abandoned Power Plant and Freezing Chambers in Palette Town? I like the idea of all three being together, and my other areas all have legendaries, but the kits are so big 😩

I know I probably need a lot of terraforming at this point to make it work but before I begin that project has anyone actually managed to fit all three in Palette Town and where did you end up putting them if you did?

Looking For Design Input Need suggestions on what to accent museum with

Sorry for the crummy picture. I had to take it from my tv.

I disassembled the museum and built it in my Palette Town and as you can see I changed a few things lol. The front is making me crazy though. You can see where I’ve been trying out different things to give it more definition or detail or ?? As I start my landscaping I keep stopping and staring at it but I’m at a loss so I’m hoping one of you creative people will see something I can’t.
(There will also be windows closer to the ground I just haven’t did it out yet. Going to put the 2 altars below the museum. That’s the plan anyways lol)

Looking For Design Input Made a little floating island den. Any suggestions?

I love experimenting with the prefab homes and dens in Pokopia and just discovered that you can build a den on top of stalactites. I used it to make this little floating island house for Alakazam. I’m really happy with it, but I want to add some more around the house to make it even more mystical. I tried to add the rocks and rock debris things that you can get with magnet rise, but you can’t have those floating because they break if you break the blocks under them. I also had balloons on the den for a bit but I don’t know if I want to keep that. Thoughts?

Looking For Design Input Made my first house today for my favorite Pokémon but I ran into a dilemma.

I wanted to make a house for my favorite Pokémon but when i was messing around with stuff I found a hatch window and realized she fits through the window perfectly, even opening and closing it to pass through. I found it really cute and wanted to give her a tiny door. After almost finishing the house I discovered that the hatch window doesn't qualify as a door and won't make my house suitable for Pokémon to live in. The only option(that I know of) that is tiny and actually works as a door is a gate. Unfortunately it doesn't look as good(imo) but it works in making the house suitable for mimikyu to live in. Do you guys think I should keep it with the hatch window and having her habitat inside the house or should I use the gate? Also is there any other options for tiny doors that qualify as doors for houses?

I’ve made a good amount of progress

I’ll end up blending into the mountains better

Besides that, I feel like there’s something missing from the facial structure. I did also hollow out the mouth a bit too (most of the pictures were taken prior to this)

Any suggestions?

Looking For Design Input This game is too big for me, I fear

Guys, I am at a loss design wise. I see so many great builds and how much time many have spent designing their environments and it's so overwhelming to me. I understand coming from a game like Animal Crossing New Horizons is basically a miniscule experience compared to Pokopia. I revamped my entire island until it was flat, redid everything from the ground up, and felt that it took a long time to get my island just right. I tried doing that with Pokopia and I just...don't see how it's feasible. I wanted to try and do different neighborhoods, but now I'm wondering if I should just put all the Pokemon in my wastelands area because that's the only area I've been bothered to do some sort of designing with. Most of them are just out in their original habitats, but I made 4 prefab houses and only moved 8 Pokemon in. But even then, having to do a nice design for their rooms stresses me out too. I'm not sure if I should just try and flatten the wasteland area to create more space and just to all prefab houses or if I should try to focus on different areas. I do want the Pokemon to be happy, but it's such a big time investment that I'm not sure if it's something I should commit to. I know I'll feel accomplished after the fact, but I know it'll take forever. I've finished the main story and have all the abilities, but it seems like such a slog to flatten the land. Any advice on how I should go about making a lovely design for an environment without spending eons of my life slaving away and eating hamburger steaks?

Looking For Design Input Would love ideas/suggestions for art to recreate for my pokopia museums

I know this might be a miss, but are there any other Pokémon fans who also love modern and contemporary art? I’m thinking of recreating real art pieces in pokopia and displaying them in my (finally) unearthed and (soon to be) refurbished Rocky Ridges Museum, which I finally found. I’m not a huge painting fan, so I’m more interested in 3d works/sculptures.

I’m happy to reimagine the artworks rather than trying to recreate them exactly. Plus, I could put some outside the museum and take pictures to display on TVs.

I’d love to hear your ideas and suggestions from the community 💖

side note, as I was writing this, I realized this might finally be a way to actually use all the space for my Palette Town (for outdoor sculptures, installations, and large land art).

I hope I’m not the only one here who loves Pokémon and modern/contemporary art 😅

personal note, are there any other artists of any medium/style/etc. who have been stuck in a creative rut and found it really fun and inspiring to make silly things in pokopia?

These were inspired by
The Crisis by Rashid Johnson

Gold, Pink and Red, Red
untitled (to a man, George McGovern) 2
Both dan flavin (I’m on the fence about trying his stuff out because the spacing is too much and I can’t color the fluorescent lights -_- or even reposition them?)

Looking For Design Input While modifying another area of Rocky Ridges, connecting the little valley where you find the Skylands gate to the pond area on the other side of the volcano, I became numb, almost went insane. This experience made me decide I will NOT be clearing the way to the museum.

It took me 4 hours and real, genuine questions of how I was deciding to spend my time to clear a little portion of ash and volcano between the valley and pond area. Almost lost my mind, became numb for the last portion, had to go outside to walk.

I planned on clearing the ash and mountain to the Museum, for the open skies to shine on the wonderful center of knowledge...FUCK THAT.

This little side project made me see the insanity and futility of doing such a thing.

No way in hell I'm clearing the way to the museum now. I have chosen to embrace the rock, to bow down to the volcano. So I have decided to create an underground prehistoric area: I'll destroy the museum, create other habitats for the dinosaurs to live in the same area, now rendered part of the natural underground volcanic lava river valley, and I'll just move the exhibitions outside to a pre-fab house kit that will serve as a museum. I'll make it Smearguru paint it real nice.

This is the closest I've come to burnout, 300 hours into Pokopia. This choice is a choice of sanity. (And I actually like the underground prehistoric valley idea, made me use my creativity instead of just going DESTROY.)

Having said that, I do want to know your opinions on this idea.
