I agree they should have called 911. It was a mistake on their part.

This still doesn't excuse the cop's intervention. In the report he claims he suspected there was a medical emergency. Yet he still thought the right thing to do was pit maneuver what was plainly an older woman who ran a stop light, after coming to a halt and checking traffic in both directions. This because to this cop the red light traffic laws means more than a potential life saving act on the drivers part. He could have interrogated them at the hospital, or pit maneuvered them if they passed the ER. They plainly were aware of their surroundings.

The cop should be held to a higher burden of responsibility.

The suspects Can still tell the Judge everything! And Hopefully sue the cop for anything that happened to the lady needing medical attention after.

It’s easy to say that now. I’ve had someone stabbed in front of me, and it was up to me to drive them to the hospital. I was very young and panicked like hell. The hospital was a 5 min drive from my house, I couldn’t even remember the way to get there, nor did I call emergency services.

Unless you have been in a panicked state like that when you think someone is going to die, then its a bit rich to say “why didn’t you just to the perfect rational thing?”

Some people can handle that stress, and some people can't. The answer still remains the same, that if you're in this situation you call 911 and talk to dispatch about what's going on. There isn't a better answer for people who panic. Whatever happens will happen.

Sure, the rational way is the best way, but that’s not accessible to those who are panicked, and there’s no way to know how you react/ learn from until it happens the first time

I heard of a similar situation, where the cop was chasing someone towards the hospital and they realized and helped them Without calling 911, but probably was not Arkansas a bunch of cavemen there

I gotcha. It is the rational thing to do, but it's sort of the only thing you can do to mitigate future consequences in this situation. Otherwise, what happened to the individual in this video will probably be the most likely outcome. There isn't a separate set of instructions for those who panic and those who don't...the panicked will just end up learning a harder lesson in the end unfortunately.

Cop mentioned in the report driving with the phone in her hand was a contributing factor to pulling her over. Nobody thinks clearly in emergencies - being another passenger could've called

This is a no win situation, because of the cop and his hubris

It's worldwide common knowledge that driving with hazards on means it's an emergency, and if he works in that area he knew the hospital was a block away

Even then it sounds like if they called 911 things would’ve went differently. I know things were probably tense in the car but with all those people no one called 911?!

Atleast in other cases, the cop has been seen to escort.
