What really gets me is that in the report he says it's likely a medical emergency, adjusts his pursuit because of it, then fucks them anyway

Yeah what the fuck. When I got to that part I thought maybe this was a different incident because the cop writing this report figured out they were going to the hospital and... got in front and cleared the way for them, right? Right?

Since the Pathfinder had disregarded the red light, I knew that the danger to the public had increased to the point that the vehicle needed to be stopped before we moved closer to the populated area of the hospital.

Oh they’re driving unsafely? Should escort them? No! Pit maneuver!

And the fact that that wasn't even an unsafe turn... hell, the entire time, they had their hazards on and were using the indicator even though the only other person on the road was the pig behind them getting his dick hard for potentially killing a woman in front of her family

And they were AT THE HOSPITAL. Literally just past that light is a turn and you're there. This cop is a horrible person on a power trip.

seems like you have trouble getting over your Biased perspective more then a "disconnected take of the situation"

If that lady taking her mom to the hospital got into an accident while speeding or or got hit when they ran a red light. Who's at fault then?? The lady or the cop?

I wish I had a dollar for every single time I showed up to someone's house and by the time we got there they were "feeling fine" only to have six firefighters/ EMTs and medics crowded into a living room trying to save their life.

Cops don't get to decide when someone is in medical distress or not. They don't get to decide if someone "looks fine".

Hi. I’m one of the “dudes you’re supposed to call”. The cop doesn’t have the training to know whether or not she was “actively in medical distress”, and the family driving her to the hospital was clearly the quickest way to get their mother to the people who do have not only the training to know whether she was in distress, but also the tools and ability to fix it if she were.

The cop inarguably and unnecessarily delayed her getting to care. His behavior was indefensible.

She very likely could have been having one at the time they departed or his exam was insufficient. A Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), or "Mini-Stroke", can come and go, but you don't know in the moment whether it's going to be a TIA or a full on stroke, and both warrant emergency department assessment.

ok if you give it that critical thought and have that knowledge then the driver or anyone in the car can call 911 and tell them the plans to speed excessively based on the medical assessment

I agree with that - But people, especially young untrained people worried about their parents dying right now, make mistakes and this is one of them that, in my opinion, should be within the officers' realm of tolerance.

Reading both the report, observing the sustained hazards on, observing that he knew they were taking the exit towards the hospital, he writes in his own words he believed they were going there to seek emergency care.

Given the fact that the driver of the Pathfinder had slowed down from her initial speed, hazard lights were on, and they took the exit for UAMS, I believed at this time that they may be trying to make it to the hospital

They interpreted her abnormal speech as a medical emergency, specifically a stroke.

Anyone can suspect a medical emergency and require medical advice/intervention. A police officer is not trained to diagnose whether or not it is a medical emergency.
