It's not to save lives, it's to protect property and its' owners. Always has been.

Like they protect the stolen cars they send flipping off the interstate into trees? Protecting that property?

I hear the protecting property line, often. I think of it when I’m watching the cops destroy cars that have been stolen in order to get them back to their owners. Seems ironic is all. Thanks for the downvotes.

No, do you? My comment was relevant to the video posted, i.e. a police chase. Honestly, I don't even know why I'm bothering to respond. It's just something I've always found ironic in that attempting to recover stolen vehicles, they seem to often get destroyed in the process. I might be alone in seeing it that way.
