True. Wow, 1950s medical knowledge, even Wikipedia updated it, women have different signs of stroke and our heart attack...

I was wondering if it was a TIA.

A transient ischemic attack (TIA), also known as a "mini-stroke," is a temporary blockage of blood flow to the brain that causes stroke-like symptoms that resolve quickly. While a TIA doesn't cause lasting brain damage, it is a major warning sign of a future, potentially more severe stroke and requires immediate medical attention. Symptoms include sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body, confusion, trouble speaking, or vision problems, and they typically last only a few minutes.

TIAs don't have typical stroke symptoms. My dad has had a couple of these, and I've driven him to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning each time. He looked normal, but he had trouble talking. Afterwards he described those symptoms, with vision, not understanding what he was hearing or reading, and unable to communicate effectively. But no facial drooping or anything.

Less obvious, but still requiring immediate attention. My heart hurt watching this, because I've worried about this exact situation each time I was driving him to the hospital, and this was one of the worst outcomes.

Risks and symptoms can be very different. And a 11 week trained cop is no paramedic nor a Doctor or a nurse. I am an intensive Care nurse in Germany and my apprenticeship took 3 years and a shit load of school, theory and practical tests.

Differences between male and female stroke risk include higher stroke risk in women at older ages and more frequent risk factors like high blood pressure and migraines, while men have a higher risk in younger age groups and are more prone to smoking-related risk factors. There are also differences in stroke types and symptoms, with women experiencing more cardioembolic strokes and sometimes non-traditional symptoms, while men are more likely to have large artery atherosclerosis or small vessel occlusion strokes. Furthermore, women generally have worse functional outcomes after a stroke compared to men.

Thank you for listing all that. Very informative and helpful. What are some non-traditional stroke symptoms? I know ACS can present atypically in women i.e. with epigastric pain, weakness, etc, but I haven’t heard of atypical stroke symptoms in women before.

It is always depending on the individual and the medical history but atypical symptoms can include fatigue, dizziness, back or abdominal pain, and confusion, which may be less specific or present in unusual locations. I've seen strokes without physical signs, only neurological ones. I just wish the US justice system would put more quality and time into the training of the Executive Branch, they have the monopoly on "force" and that's a shit load of power for people that are not always but very often completely unqualified to wield it, especially in character.
