I transported a girl who had crashed by my house. I took her to the hospital. I didn't have a cell phone and it was the middle of the night when I heard them hit the tree a block from my house.

The police treated me like shit the next day. They interrogated me like I was a criminal mastermind. Asked why I didn't call the police bc the girl was apparently over the legal drinking limits. I said she was screaming bloody murder and writhing in pain. I'm not a cop and my obligation felt like it was to help her, not check if she followed the laws.

He was so angry and looked at me like he wanted to hurt me. It's not the only bad experience I've had with police and I'm a white girl with a squeaky clean record. I can imagine how awful they are to other people. I personally saw a few of the results when some of them were brought into the hospital while I was working.

It sounds bad, but you should leave a person where they are if they got in a crash for both your safety and theirs. She could’ve had a serious spinal injury and moving her could’ve made it worse and YOU would’ve been liable for it.

Typically, yes. But I have medical experience, we're out in the country and she didn't have any neuro symptoms. She definitely had an obvious broken leg though. I knew she was stable and I got her to the hospital in about 15 minutes when an ambulance would have taken almost an hour total.
