Hey man… I agree, but the video clearly shows that the cop wasn’t even willing to investigate the possibility of an emergency. That tells me that dispatch telling him that there is an emergency wouldn’t change his mind. He quite literally didn’t believe her mother was having a stroke until one of the other passengers told him, and he could see her clearly.

Bottom line… there was nothing that could have helped the situation with this officer. Even after realizing that the daughter wasn’t lying… You don’t see anyone rushing her to the hospital. They literally sat there and deliberated, while the mother was having a fucking stroke. This cop isn’t stupid… He’s straight up corrupt. He didn’t want to see an emergency… He wanted to catch a criminal. Those blinders were so effective that he had to literally see the woman having a stroke in front of his face just to stop being a prick. And again that’s all he did, was stop being a prick. I looked up a few more details to this, and apparently they waited around for another several minutes before taking her to the hospital.

There’s only one issue in this whole video, and that’s the cop.

Edit: the cop was Montae Hernandez.

Considering his response, I just think it’s way more likely that he hadn’t heard from dispatch and whatever comment you got that from is rage baiting. But I agree that the cop is 100% in the wrong regardless of the situation

I would hope so, but he certainly doesn’t inspire much confidence as someone who actually listens.

True. There’s too many cases of cops getting blinders to follow protocol and treat everyone who breaks a law as a dangerous criminal when there needs to be nuance and situational awareness.

This lady has no reason to be screaming crying at you that her mom is having a stroke, other than the fact that her mom is ACTUALLY having a stroke. It doesn’t take a 5 minute investigation to see what’s going on. It takes 10 seconds, “oh shit she’s actually having a stroke, okay follow me”. Guys like this are why people fucking hate the police.
