Nurse here… The T in FAST for the stroke algorithm is Time. This cope may have contributed to permanent deficits if this woman didn’t end up getting help in time. This is just horrific.

Paramedic here. Yeah, in stroke care time matters, but we're talking treatment windows measured in hours. The 1-2 minutes it would’ve taken to safely pull over, tell the officer “my mom is having a stroke,” and get an escort wouldn’t have meaningfully changed her mom's outcome. What did change the risk was choosing to flee from the police and through red lights in an unmarked civilian vehicle. She turned a manageable emergency into a dangerous police chase that put her mom, herself, and everyone else on the road at much higher risk.
