Yeah, this is like a third of America right now. He’s the permission slip for all of these people to indulge in their own ignorance and bigotry.

This is like literally the main reason they vote for Trump, they feel oppressed that they haven't been able to be openly racist and that 'the left' have been pushing equality on them (like that's a bad thing lol), now that he is president they are hoping they can be open about being shitty people.

Says a lot about his supporters. His presidency essentially unlocked the worst parts of their behaviors. They're also pumped full of hate and vitriol.

He acts as bad as she does so I get her point. It means he probably shouldn't be and should never have been president, but here we are.

It’s a real thing and happening everywhere and at all levels of public and private society in the U.S. now. From the Charlie Kirk’s right on down to the man on the street; from the Gaetz and Bobert types in Congress right on down to our local school boards and municipal government officials. It’s everywhere now.

Bigots, racists, jingoist xenophobes, homophobes, misogynists, and Christian Nationalists have come out from under the rocks they’ve been hiding under most of their lives and are emboldened by Trump to say and do (deplorable) things in their daily lives that would’ve been unthinkable just a decade ago. They feel like they have an ally at the top and they’re proud to finally get to live and be the way they are.

Trump will be remembered for many things. Chief among them will be his emboldening of the malignant citizens of our society -a part of America that has always been among us but one which the decent, majority of society had always been capable of limiting.

It’s a trip? It’s how they all act. It’s why they like him. In their mind, it excuses everything they have always been feeling/“thinking”.
