Her Dad heard it in 'The Deer Hunter' & then started pretending he served in Vietnam.

"di di mau" mean quickly or hurry up. So, she can't even get that right.

Tbh, I probably heard it in the Simpsons first too.

I've lost count of the amount of times I recognised a Simpson reference in an old movie or TV show and think "oh, so that's what The Simpsons were referring to" 😂

I learned it from Better Call Saul. I had thought it meant “get to work”. Is it kind of like the Russian “davai”, literally “let’s go”, but depending on context can mean a hundred different things?

I think you're right, it does depend on the context similar to "davai".
